5.0 out of 5 stars PDR in your Pocket? Now you can!, June 26, 2000
This review is from: Franklin PDR 2000 Springboard Module (Office Product)
The famed PDR -- Physician's Desk Reference -- is a common sight in doctors' offices, pharmacies, and libraries. This indispensable volume lists all currently available prescription drugs along with their effects, interactions, and possible side-effects. However, the sheer size of the book made its use cumbersome -- this Desk Reference is nearly as big as a desk. But now, with the new Springboard Module edition, the PDR becomes as portable as the Handspring Visor it fits into.

No, it's not cheap -- but it puts the ability for every healthcare professional to have the PDR at their fingertips -- in their shirt pocket -- or in the proverbial little black bag -- 24 hours a day.

And considering the rugged nature of Handsprings, I would not be a bit surprised to see at least one of these in every EMT ambulance in the country in a year or so.

If you frequently use the PDR but you also want to be freed from the bulk of the printed book, then you need this module!

4.0 out of 5 stars A very handy prescription drug information tool, June 21, 2000

"jbernhard" (American Fork, Utah) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Franklin PDR 2000 Springboard Module (Office Product)
I was skeptical that Franklin's PDR 2000 module for the Handspring would work. I purchased it anyway because of Franklin's reputation with their Palm-compatible stuff.

But after putting it to work and using it every day in my practice, I have seen the terrific benefits of having this information handy for my patients. Everytime I pull out my Visor and look up the information as I sit right in front of the patient, they love the convenience and the "high tech" flavor this tool has.

Another great aspect of the PDA 2000 is that it is updatable, which just takes a few moments.

I can access accurate, up-to-date, prescription drug information and see six topics about every prescription drug, including indications and usage, contraindications, warnings, adverse reactions, dosage and administration, how supplied, generic drugs and manufacturer.

If you have a Visor and are a physician or dental profressional, I would recommend the PDA 2000 if you can stomach the cost.
