4.0 out of 5 stars Basketball game is great - Service FOR IT is not!
We purchased this game as a present for our son. Within 2 weeks the arm on the basket that keeps the score broke off. We tried several times to e-mail Franklin Sports for service and we could never get a reply from customer service or the Warranty department. It is sad for my son who's game broke so quickly and we can not get it fixed.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT Built to Last
The frame is poorly designed/engineered. The front bar has a warning about leaning or climbing on the item. What this really means is that if you set it up and put it in a corner it will look like a lot of fun to play, but if you actually play on it, it will break. The metal frame lasted only one game. On the second game, as my son was reaching for a ball, he slipped...

The frame is poorly designed/engineered. The front bar has a warning about leaning or climbing on the item. What this really means is that if you set it up and put it in a corner it will look like a lot of fun to play, but if you actually play on it, it will break. The metal frame lasted only one game. On the second game, as my son was reaching for a ball, he slipped and leaned into the front metal bar which instantly collapsed. The game was unusable after that. Now, looking at the construction the flaw is obvious. There is absolutely no support for the front bar to support any amount of weight. If it didn't break on the second game it would have done so soon after.

Since the backboard and rims seem fairly well built, I decided to build my own wood frame out of 2x4s. Works great now! I wish they sold the electronics, rims, and backboard seperately.

2.0 out of 5 stars Basketball shooting-problem with design, June 7, 2010

I had to add some support bars to this item 2 days after it was used, and the structure/design isn't built very well for a lot of use.

1.0 out of 5 stars Should have taken heed to previous reviews!, January 5, 2011

This review is from: Franklin Sports Dual Court Electronic Arcade Basketball Game (Sports)
Franklin Sports Dual Court Electronic Arcade Basketball Game I ordered this game for a New Years Eve entertainment package. After about the third game (played by adults) the rim of the basket broke in three places. I should have taken heed to the previous reviews and NOT bought this item. I am about to proceed to see what the company is going to do about it...it is not a matter of returning the item, but what I can do about fixing it. It is a very fun game and those who had the opportunity to play it really like it. Some want to know where I got it. They want it...I want to just see about replacing the basket rim. DO NOT ORDER THIS ITEM PEOPLE!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Keep Searching for a Different Hoop, December 29, 2009

I would not recommend this. It is not sturdy enough. There should be more support on the side. My kids have been playing for less than a day and the metal sides are both ready to snap. Keep searching for a better hoop. Once put together it looks kind of like the picture, but the ball catcher below the baskets is NOT that taut.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun But Not Strong, December 27, 2009
This review is from: Franklin Sports Dual Court Electronic Arcade Basketball Game (Sports)
This is a great game and probably a good value for the price. We had a lot of fun with our game. Sometimes the balls get stuck and this happened when a four year old bent the frame on one side. His weight was too much for the frame as he leaned in for the ball and transferred a lot of his weight onto the frame. Ultimately, the frame snapped in two on the left side of the game. We played it a lot in the 2 days we had it. Lots of fun and great competition. Wish it was more sturdy, stronger. It does bounce around the floor a bit when the balls are shooting and hitting the backboard and net. So much fun we are now looking for a much stronger, more permanent game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Will almost certainly break within 7 days, September 22, 2011

The legs are EXTREMELY weak and will almost certainly break within its first week of use. I made the mistake of ordering expensive replacement parts from Franklin after they broke the first time; I tried to reinforce the legs by wrapping them in duct tape, and got burned a second time. The weight of the balls is about all it takes to make the legs buckle over and break.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money!, February 10, 2011

This product is fun while it lasts, which is not very long. It is not sturdy and was drooping to one side after about a week, and then the entire basketball net broke off of one side. Don't waste your money.

The product was there on time and it brought many hours of enjoyment to my kids during our recent snow storms in the Northeast. We are a very competitive family and the younger kids are the high point scores. Many thanx
