I need German-English-German, it works with some words, but it doesn't translate even some basic words. It's for travellers more than for languages learners. If it were extensible, I would have been more staisfied.

I found this product to be very disappointing. They are advertising this product as a translator (and selling it for the price of a translator) when in fact this device is nothing else than a dictionary - which may be bought at a fraction of this price from any other store. The few basic (kindergarten level) sentences included in this dictionary do not entitle the device to be a translator by any means!

I rate this product as better than a poke in the eye. Just kidding, this works OK but as mentioned above is a bit overpriced for what you get. I bought it to use for a job in Poland, for Polish it is not even a real good dictionary, many words are available only in their most basic form; tenses and use as adj/adv confuse it completely. Many very commonly used words are not recognized at all. It does not give any phonetic cues as how to pronounce a word, which limits its usefulness.
Pros- light and compact. A big advantage is the 12 language feature, this is handy for on route help. Battery life seems pretty good. If you need a device like this, go with the spendier talking units. You get what you pay for. A better bet, and much more useful, is the talking dictionary and talking phrasebook software I picked up while in Poland from LingvoSoft (downloaded off their website). I loaded this into my PC replacement laptop, and into my netbook for mobile use. it is also available for Windows mobile (Like CE), Windows power phone, and Palm devices. It talks, and has phonetic cues for words as well. Both programs together were about the same price as this unit, if you own any of these platforms this is the way to go IMO.
