Side 1 shows Frankos Map of Maui with its beautiful mountains rising up from 120 miles of coastline in green shaded relief, with ocean blues descending in color the deeper you go away from the island. Mauis main roads and highways are detailed all around and through the island. The road map goes from Kapalua, Kaanapali and Lahaina on the far western part of Maui, around the western mountains to Kahului and Wailuku, and then south to Kihei, Wailea and Makena. On the eastern side of Maui, the roads take you on the 37-mile uphill route to the very roof of the island, at Haleakala National Park -- some folks like to go up the mountain in the wee hours of the morning to catch the spectacular sunrise. The Road to Hana is detailed -- this is the famous, scenic drive and is certainly one of the most beautiful scenic drives anywhere in the world. The road starts in Paia and ends in Hana, although most people like to go beyond to the wonderful 7 Pools of Oheo to frolic amidst waterfalls and deep swimming holes. Snorkeling is Mauis number one activity and this map beautifully shows it all off. Dive sites detailed include everybodys favorite, Molokini Island, where water visibility might exceed 200 feet. Other sites include Turtle Town, Olowalu, Kapalua Beach, and LaPerouse Bay. A handful of Mauis top surfing sites located and described.
Side 2 shows Frankos Map of Maui County. Details the rest of Maui County -- "The Friendly Isle," Molokai, and "The Private Isle," Lanai. Molokai is shown from its desert-like western half, to its mountainous, jungle-filled eastern half, and from its southern string of ancient Hawaiian fish ponds to the historic Kalaupapa peninsula. Lanai is notable for its numerous fabulous dive sites from Turtle Haven in the northwest, to the famous southern spots of The Cathedrals, and Huopoe Bay. Lanai is a common dive/snorkeling tour boat destination out of Lahaina on Maui. Side 2 shows a beautiful aerial photograph from straight overhead of Molokini Island, with the crescent shape of the island crater beautifully revealed. Details of dive sites such as Enenue, Tako Flats, and Garbonzos Lair are shown.
