Side 2 shows a map of Oahu with Things to See and Do. The beautiful shaded relief map of Oahu is designed to show the viewer just what Oahu has to offer to the tourist explorer. Dozens of Oahus best and most wonderful sites and things to do are described and located. It is, in effect, a big checklist, which could keep you busy for months. Notable sites include the Arizona Memorial, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and Bishop Museum. Activities such as camping, bicycling, touring, surfing, and even hang gliding are explained. Oahu is fascinating and there is much to do, and this map is a perfect guide to get you going. The map, with its superb and beautiful colors is not just a useful tool, but makes a great and lasting souvenir, too.

About the Author

Frank Nielsen is a self-described "ocean nut" born in Bountiful, Utah. He learned to love watersports while a teenager, when his family was posted to Beirut. Later he earned a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering and worked for the U.S. Navy until 2000, when he became a full-time cartographer and map publisher.

This is good if one wants a map that might get wet. It covers too much territory and thus the map & writing is too small for quick use.

When this map arrived I was struck by how small it was. I did not anticipate using it much, but surprisingly, in came in very handy on our vacation. Its small size made it easier to find points of interest quickly, and fit easily into a shorts pocket. Franko highlights a lot of attractions that he reccomends- some of these we found to be tourist traps that I would not reccomend. Overall, I would suggest you pair this with Nelle's map, as this one lacks detailed roads.
