Anne Frank: more than a testimony, an example,
By diego alba (usa, florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Anne Frank's The Diary of a Young Girl (Monarch Notes) (Paperback)
I recently finished reading the diary of Anne Frank and I'm experiencing a gust of feelings awaken by her sensitivity, eloquence and maturity. She was able to transmit her happiness, humor, fear and despair as i made my way through the 335 pages of the book. Her words are so descriptive and profound, that the whole time i felt that she was telling her stories to me and not to her diary. It is like she knew that there was a possibility that someone else would read her memories. I'm glad it happened this way since it was part of her dreams and because her thoughts transcended in the life of many people around the world. This diary is more than a book, it is a treasure and a legacy of courage and hope to mankind. It is inspiring to know that someone so young could have such moral integrity, such high expectations of life and people and such endless necessity to acquire knowledge in order to defeat ignorance. The book offers an informal but extremely well written description of the dreadful details lived by Anne, her family and close friends during the holocaust; it also reveals some updates of the evolution of the war in Amsterdam, Holland and other countries bounden into it. The richness of the vocabulary used to depict facts and feelings is alluring and far intense. It is certain that the kindness of her soul will be remembered.
