5.0 out of 5 stars Works great!
Living in Florida with heat, humidity and hurricanes, I can definitely say that this does the job it was designed to do. I carry one in my purse, car, briefcase, etc. It is not mean't to sit on a desk. It works great at providing relief for my face. I have a larger battery operated fan that works over more of the body, but you can't carry it around easily. You have...

1.0 out of 5 stars Blaahhh!!!
Poor quality Item. Fan is made of some type of cloth/felt material that isn't very effective unless you hold it right in your face. It's also noisy! Major bummer, even for this price. Better to pay more and get quality.

1.0 out of 5 stars If I could save you from the embarrassment... please don't buy it!, August 16, 2005

I received my shipment from Amazon just yesterday, and when I opened up the package, I kid you not, I think it's probably the absolute lowest quality product I've ever bought from Amazon. The fan itself is a piece of flimsy foam, and the case is made of cheap plastic that is poorly glued together, clumsily painted, and looks like it came from a high school science project. The battery cover is nearly impossible to slide back into place once the batteries are in place (the spring pushes the batteries up, and you need to do some contorted trick to keep them pushed down while trying to slide the cover back in place). And then get this: when I flipped the switch to activate the fan, it didn't work! Why am I not surprised...

Just wanted to save you the hassle of having to wait for this and be met by the same frustration if you happen to be considering this. It's the same advice I'd give to a friend if he or she were looking at it.

I love this fan, have given as gifts to others who love them, and now am re-ordering more to have on hand. People are always asking for purchase data when they see it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best in it's class, March 21, 2007

I moved to the NorthWet over 10 years ago, and have become very used to cool temperatures, but have found that the rest of the world seems to like it warm (at least warmer than I do!). I've now become addicted to personal fans and have purchased and used many different sizes and types. In the pocket class, this is the best fan I've found (I'm now ordering a half-dozen because I'm down to my last one). All the other fans I've tried have either been too big or too chintzy - this is the only one that has never broken (though I do keep losing them, but that's not the fan's fault!).

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for a treadmill!, May 18, 2007
I searched both brick and mortar stores and on line, and couldn't believe nobody is marketing a fan to be used when you're working out on a treadmill, elliptical, whatever. My gym is HOT, and I've been looking for a portable, attachable battery powered fan. The belt clip will work well for clipping it onto the lip of the cupholder on the treadmill I use. WHOEVER MAKES THESE, market them for workout use. Maybe redesign slightly so they can be attached someone to most machines, like a clip on or something.

Noisy, noisy, noisy! The fan part is a cut out piece of felt that isn't very effective either. NOT a good product even at that low price. Don't bother buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted, September 15, 2005

This little fan did exactly what I wanted - a small, purse size fan that provided enough cooling air when I traveled and had to be in places without air conditioning. It's a great size for the purse and seems pretty sturdy too (I've had others that worked one or two times and quit). The "blades" are harmless too. Like all the little fans, it would be a bit noisy for church or theater, but for what I needed it was great.
