Let me tell you, since I first discovered this CD, I couldn't stop listening to it. The sheer uniqueness of Anastacia's voice alone is enough reason to get the CD. But it's full of tracks that you'll be playing for quite a while, I guarantee. As long as you like funky Pop/R&B with a little Rock edge, this CD is definitely one that no collection should be without.

This is one of those CDs you don't have to pick up the remote on, just let it play itself out and repeat. All of the songs are awesome, but my favorites are:

-You'll Never Be Alone: This is just one of those spectacular diva songs falling right in the same category as "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine or "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston.

-I Dreamed You: You think Anastacia's all chest voice!? No! And she proves that she has a stunningly beautiful head voice on this beautiful track.

-Freak of Nature: It's just fun and uplifting what can I say. Any person out there who considers themselves a freak of nature or ever been called one should be damn proud after hearing this song.

-Paid My Dues: This is an awesome, and should become a classic, Nothing-Can-Stop-Me song.

Those are my absolute favorites, and I actually could go on and on because like I said before, all the songs are top notch.

The bottom line is, GET THE CD. I promise you won't regret it! Anastacia is just amazing and I can't wait to hear what's next.

I must say that ANASTACIA is the singer of the millenium her first mega hit album "NOT THAT KIND" was a boom in Eurpoe it sold over 5 million copies and the songs became classic there i can say this because i travel a lot to Europe.
This time is FREAK OF NATURE the album has and increible rhythm all the songs are fantastic, there are dance songs which them you can dance until you fall down to the floor Anastacia's voice is unique she has a mix between TINA TURNER and TAYLOR DAYNE, also sings soft ballads, Anastacia is one of those rare singers that you love or hate but i'm sure the everyone is gonna love her every time that i play this cd with friends they love and the buy her cd's i'm sure that everybody who buy's her first or second cd buy's the other one.
FREAK OF NATURE hitted all the charts in Europe and topped almost all them it sold to date up to 4 million copies and in the US it also became a hit charting in BILLBOARD it debuted at #27 and has sold around 500,000 in just a couple of months, the first US single was ONE DAY IN YOUR LIFE which reached #1 in Billboard and #1 in 17 countries in Europe, the first international single was PAID MY DUES also touched #1 in several territories and the upcoming single is WHY'D YOU LIE TO ME.
My favorite songs in the album are: ONE DAY IN YOUR LIFE, HOW COME THE WORLD, YOU'LL NEVER BE ALONE, PAID MY DUES, SECRETS AND DON'T STOP.
The album also includes the song IF I TOLD YOU THAT where features FAITH EVANS.
I highly recommend this album to everyone.
I wish that Anastacia wins a Grammy this year because after all her hits she desrves at least one.

I own over two hundred CDs. I can honestly say that this CD is one of, if not *the*, best.

Anastacia's voice is very unique, and her style of songwriting is refreshing, especially now, in the days of Alicia Keys and Tweet (Both very good artists, I might add. Their version of writing is very "old-school," though.).

Anastacia is by far one of the most talented women in show buisness. If you watched VH1's "Diva's", you would have seen her onstage with Celine Dion, easily matching Celine's voice. That is quite a feat.

I would highly suggest this CD.

A friend introduced me to Anastacia and I think she's fabulous! I LOVE her deep,raspy voice (similar to Tina Turner)which is so soulful and outrageously good.This CD will get you dancing and the slow songs are really inspirational. I have since bought two other Anastacia CDs and listen to her constantly.

It's unreal to me that she hasn't made it big in the USA. She's SOOO much better than most artists you hear on the radio - she's awesome!

If you like R&B, you'll love this CD.

Anastacia started her career in 2000 with her debut album "Not that kind", which was a huge hit in Europe with sells of 6 million copies. "Not that kind" had hit singles such as: "I'm otta love", "Cowboys and kisses", "Made for loving you" and "Not that kind". Even though the album was huge in Europe it bearly touched the American charts.

In 2002 she released this,her second album "Freak of nature", an album full of energy. The first single was "Paid my dues" which became a #1 hit in Europe and Asia. Few months later "Freak of nature" was officially released in the U.S and its second single, "One day in your life" was the first American single that topped the Dance Billboard charts.
Before "Freak of nature" appeared in the american market, Anastacia shared the stage with Celine Dion, Cher, Dixie Chicks and Shakira at Divas Las Vegas.

The hit of this album had been very big. It topped the international charts for 3 weeks, it has sold 5 million copies in Europe and close to 500,000 copies in the U.S.

About Anastacia's music I can mention that she has a mix between Tina Turner and Taylor Dayne but she has her funky own style.
When she rocks, she rocks and when she sings love songs, she delivers her strong voice with all her heart. She really feels the lyrics that happend to be very good.

The songs are fantastic, on this production you have the strong ones like: "Paid my dues", "Freak of nature" or "Why'd you lie to me". The soft ones like: "Overdue goodbye " or "How come the world won't stop". The ones where Anastacia gives her whole voice and feeling like: "You'll never be alone" and "Secrets". I can't forget the dance ones..."One day in your life" and "Don't stop".
You'll also find a duet with Faith Evans in "I thought I told you that".

The album is fantastic, has a bit of everything. Anastacia a great singer, she really knows who to make music and how to sing it and I'm sure that if you buy this album you're gonna love it to the point that you'll buy "Not that kind" too.
These days Anastacia is on #1 with her latest dance hit "Love is a crime" from the Oscar winner movie "Chicago".

...The difference between the US version of "Freak of Nature" and the import version is that "I Thought I Told You That" is only available on the US release, plus the production of the first single "One Day In Your Life" is slightly differently than the import version. Personally I prefer the import version of the song. On the US release, the song lacks the oomph that the import version has. It sounds like the producer was aiming to mkae the song a ballad which is a terrible idea. "I Thought I Told You That", a duet with Faith Evans is fairly good but nothing to write home about. It doesn't have the sonic punch of "I'm Outta Love" and "One Day In Your Life". Still it is a good song. Both singers sounds good together. Both Faith and Anastacia have powerful vocals so they are evenly matched. Overall, I think it is almost silly to buy this album if you already own an import copy of it. Hopefully "I Thought I Told You That" will be a b-side on a future single, if it isn't already. If you don't own a copy of "Freak of Nature", then get this version. It is a lot cheaper than going for the import (but well worth the money I thought).

So, I picked up this album because of the song "Paid My Dues". On first listen to the whole album, I immediately picked out a few songs as winners and thought, oh, oh, the rest was just filler (like a few other reviewers here). I love Anastacia's throaty powerful voice and this forced me (smile) to listen to the whole album several times. And you know what? I discovered that those songs that I had thought were fillers, were actually very, very good too - just a little different musically, perhaps a little more complex. End result? Talk about a revelation! I KNOW this will be one of my favorite albums for YEARS to come. Anastacia has crafted an absolutely brilliant album (she co-wrote most of the material) that has a little variety (sometimes a little disco, sometimes a little torch-y, sometimes a bit hip-hop, sometimes a bit funky) but held together by Anastacia's amazing voice. And that voice! Often compared to Tima Turner or Chaka Khan, but still unique. Some reviewers think it is overblown, but you know what? There is many a time I enjoy a big powerful voice belting out big powerful, emotional songs ... and Anastacia delivers! Other reviewers have critiqued that she included 2 songs from her debut album on this album, but I'm thrilled that she did ... because along with Outta Love (which I have on CD single) they are the best 3 songs from that debut album --- and if you're not as keen on that album (like me) you get the best of both worlds in one CD. So, pop Freak of Nature in your CD player and crank that volume control up, up, UP! Anastacia, girl, keep doing what you're doing! I'll be listening.

This woman has it all: An amazing, powerful, expressive, and unique voice, great song writing skills, and the looks of a world class model! Isn't that what every music company wants these days? If they do, Anastacia is their poster child. Some may call her voice overpowering, and her music overproduced, but who needs them! From the soaring 'One day in your life' to the gentle 'Overdue Goodbye,' Anastacia has range and can easily mold herself to different styles amd tempos of music. What first struck me as being odd is the track 'How come the world won't stop spinning?' that has an almost new age feel to it with lush, layered locals. Strange, but stunning! Alreaady huge overseas, North America has not embraced Anastacia the way Europe has. Why? The only reason I can come up with is that Sony has not done their job in promoting Anastacia the way she should be. How can they expect an unknown artist to make a name in North America if they just sit back and relax? I wish more people knew about this lady, for her talent is very much overlooked. Also, be sure to pick up a copy of Anastacia's debut 1999/2000 album 'Not that Kind.'

I was so impressed with Anastacia's first album that when Freak of Nature was released in the UK I had to special order it as an import - despite the fact that I was going to be in London less than a month later! And, of course, I immediately turned around and bought a copy of the US release the day it came out - even though there was only one song different. Whether you're looking for "bounce" or ballad, Freak of Nature is perfect.

When I first heard of Anastacia I thought oh great another here today gone tomorrow pop stars, but when I heard her, I find she has a voice and talent that will last a long time! This is a must buy!
