5.0 out of 5 stars Not for the Uptight !
IF you are an uptight person when it comes to sex...this book is not for you. This book explores sex and sexuality but really surprised me with the story itself,I thought this was a great read....couldn't put it down until I finished. Great job for her first book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Where's the True Freak???
Great plot, easy read but honestly from the cover, title and reviews I was expecting some super hot, steamy, freaky type ish and it fell a lil short. However, I will say there was lots of suspense and unexpected twist in Madamek's creative writing.

1.0 out of 5 stars Freak in the sheets.... Uh No!, October 24, 2009
This review is from: Freak in The Sheets (Paperback)
I can't believe this book had such amazing reviews! This book was not very well written. I thought this was going to be an excellent book by the way the cover looked, but I was terribly disappointed. The story was not developed and at times it seem the thoughts were incomplete. I am truly upset that I wasted my hard earn money on this book!

2.0 out of 5 stars Horrible!, December 25, 2008

This review is from: Freak in The Sheets (Paperback)
I purchased this book, in spite of the ridiculous cover, based upon the glowing reviews on this site. I kept reading the book, even though it was bad, because of the glowing reviews. When I finished the book, I was mad I had wasted the time.

Problems with the book:
1. The characters are not fully developed and neither is the storyline.
2. The characters were so much alike that I really couldn't tell the difference between Layla and Raquelle half of the time.
3. A lesbian storyline popped up out of the blue from nowhere and ended just as quick.
4. There were some editing problems.

Good things about the book:
1. Easy to read
2. Short, only 189 pages

I would not recommend this book.

Racquelle Scott is working at the library while attending school to become a sex therapist. Her best friend, Layla is working for her father's company. Layla is not very happy at his firm because he does not value her opinion and ideas. After an intense argument with her dad, she quits the company. She and Raquelle decide to open their own sex education clinic named Freak In The Sheets. This is when the fun begins.

As the pair embark on their new endeavor, their love lives could use some freshening up. Raquelle is shocked when her ex-boyfriend is released from prison. She is not sure if she should get back with him although he does seem like a changed man. She has a crush on someone else but is not sure if it will go anywhere because he's in a relationship with someone else. Layla, on the other hand, breaks off her engagement to her fiancé to explore other options.

FREAK IN THE SHEETS, the debut novel from MadameK, starts somewhat slow as the author sets the tone. Once the characters are introduced and the plot is set, the story flows. The story is sexy, yet funny and it does carry a very serious sub-plot. I was left with a few unanswered questions, but I am satisfied to know MadameK is following up with a sequel.

3.0 out of 5 stars Every Man Wants a Lady In the Streets, January 6, 2008
This review is from: Freak in The Sheets (Paperback)
Raquelle Scott and Layla Lane are best friends stuck in jobs they hate. Raquelle is a modest librarian working toward a Human Sexuality degree. Layla works for her father's firm and has made every effort to please him without any encouragement.

Raquelle and Layla have grown weary of their current lifestyles and are ready for some life-changing events. Raquelle's ex-boyfriend has been released from prison and is determined to win her back. However, she secretly lusts after Evan, the fine and committed brother of Layla. Tired of the lackluster relationship with her wealthy fiancé, Layla deserts him and her job in a impulsive moment. These two embark on this new adventure as they explore a naughty, forbidden, and secret society to enlighten and educate people on this electrifying and uninhibited fantasy world.

Surprisingly, the content is much milder than expected with such a shocking title. MadameK's literary skills are admirable as well as courageous to step out of the box with such a tale. The evolvement of each character and their emotions are very well defined despite the limited amount of pages. MadameK works sexuality, relationships, jealousy, and manipulative schemes in this realistic novel as well as bravery and spontaneity for her heroines in their quest for life-changing choices. I commend MadameK for the debut of her freshman novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT, HOT, HOT!, December 19, 2007
This review is from: Freak in The Sheets (Paperback)
Freak in the Sheets by MadameK is a great urban, erotica novel. From the beginning to the end, you will be clamoring for more. Raquelle and her best friend, Layla, are tired of their predictable lives; the hum-drum and routine of the everyday nine-to-five. Well, one day they decide to turn their dreams into a reality.

Layla is laid back and living in the shadows of dear old dad. Reporting to work as a financial analyst, at her father's firm, is giving Layla some major headaches and issues that she needs to resolve as soon as possible. Layla's fiancé is stiff and predicable as well as boring, and so is their sex life. Will Layla get the courage to stand up to dad, and reclaim her life? Or, will she let the men in her life remain in control?

Raquelle is a shy librarian, who has an inner wild-side that she is trying hard to contain. With a pattern of picking the wrong men and more free time than a little on her hands, she takes some college courses in sexology. Will Raquelle let her inner freak out? Or, will she remain captive to her image?

These ladies mean business and want you to enroll in their new school "Freak in the Sheets", where they venture to uncharted territories. The scenes are very descriptive, and leave nothing to the imagination. So hold on to your reading glasses, because this one is a scorcher!

I recommend this book to readers of all genres, there is a little bit of freak in all of us waiting to be unleashed.
