4.0 out of 5 stars Freaky Friday come but one day a week!, April 15, 2010
This review is from: Freaky Friday-The Jazz Opera (Audio CD)
Let's just that "Freaky Friday", Jack Sheldon's so-called jazz opera, is best reserved for die-hard J.S. fans. As a story, it's really quite silly. And musically speaking, it has as much early 60's sounding rock (which sounds dated and rather studio bound now), and generic sounding blues, as it does jazz. But it's also good, clean fun to waste an hour of one's own time with. Even more important, it has a couple of Sheldon tunes that have remained with Jack, night after night, town after town, in numerous live performances over the years - tunes such as "Bodega Bay" (pronounced "Bodeega Bay" here), "Wait And See", and the hilarious "Atomic Bomb" ballad. It also features two fabulous left coast guitarists who worked with Sheldon often during those years, Jack Marshall and Howard Roberts. Hey, there are worse ways you could spend your time and money! It least "Freaky Friday" will make you laugh as much as it might make you cringe.

By the way, this isn't to be confused with the movie that carries the same title.
