1.0 out of 5 stars The last reviewer was wrong,.
I believe that the last reviewer is sadly mistaken. There are no obscene or profain words in any of the songs on this CD. You must have this soundtrack confused with the soundtrack from some other movie. If there had been and foul language anywhere on this CD, it would have had a Parental Advicary label on the cover of the CD. There isn't one on this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you loved the film, then enjoy the soundtrack as well, August 17, 2003
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
I saw Jamie Lee Curtis's tour de force performance in "Freaky Friday" and then proceeded to pick up the soundtrack, even though the only cast members singing on this album are Lindsay Lohan and Chad Michael Murray. There are only two songs that are performed in the film, "Take Me Away" by Christina Vidal, which is song that the faux band Pink Slip plays in the movie, and "Ultimate," which Lohan sings during the final credits. The soundtrack is a mix between edgy covers, such as Simple Plan's "Happy Together," Lillix's "What I Like About You," and Bowling for Soup's "...Baby One More Time," and contemporary songs by Forty Foot Echo, the Donnas, and Lash. Rolfe Kent, who did the music for the film, only gets the final track on the album, "Fortune Cookie?" I picked up the album for the covers, but the other songs are growing on me, although it is strange to listen to Halo Friendlies sing "Me Vs. The World" or Joey Ramone's punk cover of "What a Wonderful World" and then realize this is the soundtrack to a Disney film.

5.0 out of 5 stars A poppy soundtrack but its very very fun to listen to!, August 9, 2003
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
I just saw the Freaky Friday movie and I loved it so much, and I loved the songs in it. I immediately went and bought the soundtrack for a amazingly low price. I was happy that I had the songs that Lindsay Lohan and her band sing (that song that she plays at the Wango Tango tryouts and in the garage when her mother turns off the electricity is another girl's song, read below to know what I think of each song!)

1. Lindsay Lohan "Ultimate" 10/10
The song she sings during the end credits and at her mom's wedding, a perfect inclusion!
2. Simple Plan "Happy Together" 8/10
One of the few remakes on this CD, an okay remake.
3. Lillix "What I Like About You" 9/10
An improved remake, perfect for Lillix.
4. American Hi-Fi "The Art of Losing" 7/10
One of the bad songs on the CD, AHF used to be good back in the Flavor of the Week days but they're a little washed out.
5. Forty Foot Echo "Brand New Day" 10/10
Never heard of them but this is a good song!
6. Halo Friendlies "Me Vs. The World" 10/10
I would love to play this song on the guitar if I only knew how to play!
7. Christina Vidal "Take Me Away" 10/10
The song that Lindsay's band plays! Glad it's on here!
8. Chad Michael Murray "Baby One More Time (Intro)" 0/10
What a waste of space! Made my ears bleed!
9. Bowling For Soup "Baby One More Time" 10/10
A good reason to like this song again!
10. The Donnas "Backstage" 10/10
"The Female Ramones" rock on this song!

11. Andrew W.K. "She Is Beautiful" 11/10
I LOVE THIS SONG IT IS AWESOME!
12. Diffuser "I Wonder" 9/10
Cool song!
13. Lash "Beauty Queen" 7/10
BORING!!!!!
14. Ashlee Simpson "Just Let Me Cry" 1/10
Basking in the light of her sister, sad very sad, and a cheap sounding imitation of No Doubt too!
15. Joey Ramone "What A Wonderful World" 12/10
JOEY'S BACK! sad that it is a remake but I'm glad he's back!
16. Rolfe Kent "Fortune Cookie?" 10/10
I liked the score to the movie but they could have done without including this on the music soundtrack. Not in place. Its a good track though!

THIS IS WHAT A SOUNDTRACK SHOULD BE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Movie and Soundtrack of the summer!, August 30, 2003
By
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
I borrowed this CD from my friend after watching Freaky Friday (which was very awesome, may I add :D). I liked it so much I wouldn't give it back to her and just ended up giving her the money to get herself another one. YES it's that good. Very fun and totally what everyone needs to end up the summer on a musical high note. This is just what I need to get dancing out of my bed every morning.

This is a satisfying CD whether you are into pop, rock or punk. My mom even liked it. Lindsay Lohan's musical debut was a lot better than I would have anticipated. The song "Ultimate" which is featured as the first song on the soundtrack will be stuck in your head all day. Other favourites of mine would have to be "Happy Together" by Simple Plan, and "Backstage" by the Donnas. This CD is a total showcase of the hottest upcoming young artists bound to take over the airwaves.

My absolute favourite song on the album would have to be "What I Like About You" by the new Canadian pop-rock sensation girl group Lillix (Tasha-Ray, Lacey-Lee, Louise and Kim). You know what song that is! It's the one from the movie that had you dancing in your movie seat when it came on! These girls put a modern fun rock twist on an amazing classic song. Think that was too many positive adjectives for one group? Take a listen for yourself. I'm sure after listening to their cover of the Romantic's classic hit on the Freaky Friday soundtrack, you will no doubt be intruiged to pick up their debut album "Falling Uphill". Their album and the Freaky Friday soundtrack are definitely the must have albums of the summer before you get back to school!

Overall an awesome CD. This is one of those great CD's that you won't have to skip songs with -> though you might be like me and love Lillix's cover song so much that you put it on repeat ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars MAXIMUM REVIEW, January 18, 2004
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
The first time I saw Freaky Friday it had me totally cracking up and the songs were just amazing. Three days later I went out and bought the soundtrack and it is worth every penny!! This CD goes for everything: If you're down, hyper, dancing, driving studying it is a perfect blend but viewers should be warned that it is mostly punk rock. Not that that's a bad thing because I love punk rock! Anyways I took a little time to review each song separately:

1. "Ultimate" by Lindsay Lohan- 10/10 This is a good song the guitar part is very enjoyable and Lindsay Lohan's voice is good

^Where song comes in movie: This is the song that Lindsay's band plays at the end of the movie during the credits.

2."Happy Together" by Simple Plan- 10/10 This song is very jerky in a good way. If you like headbanging, this is a good song for you. Simple Plan does a perfect rendition of this classic song and this is GREAT for dancing around to in your room.

^Where song comes in movie: At the very beginning of the movie when Anna won't get out of her bed and her mom is painting her nails and doing yoga.

3."What I like about you" by Lillix- 9/10 This is another rendition done perfectly by Lillix. This is a song that will get stuck in your head, believe me. Like "Take me away" there is a guitar solo in the middle of it. I like all of the "heys"

^Where song comes in movie: When Anna as her mom tries on the clothes, shoes, gets her hair cut and pierces her ear.

4."The art of losing" by American Hi-Fi- 10/10 This song just shouts PUNK PUNK PUNK!! This is one of the better songs on the album and I love the "wooohohs"

^Where song comes in movie: The part where Anna keeps on getting hit in the head with a volleyball and when she hits Stacey in the head with one.

5."Brand New Day" by Forty Foot Echo- 11/10 This is one of the only ballads--well it is the only ballad in the album and I think it is really cute and AAAAAW! This song shows that it's possible to have a rock/ballad combo!!

^Where song comes in movie: THE KISS!!! Oh and the dance too...

6. "Me vs. the world" by Halo Friendlies- 8/10 I just wasnt't crazy for this one don't ask why but it still is a pretty good song I like the beginning ltrics though.

^Where song comes in movie: I have no idea!

7. "Take me away" by Christina Vidal- 12/10 This is the song Anna's band plays at "The house of blues" This song has great guitar parts and the song itsself has a catchy rhythm! This is a great song for karaoke!

^Where song comes in movie: When they practice the song in the garage and at The House of Blues

8. ... Baby one more time (Intro) by Chad Michael Murray- 9/10 You see the name Chad Michael Murray and think "Didn't he play Jake?" Well yes but this is when he sings this song to Tess from the window outside . Even though I think it's a bit of a joke I think it is very funny when he tries to squeak out "Still believe" GUARANTEED TO MAKE YOU LAUGH

^Where song comes in movie: When Jake stands outside of Anna's house and sings Baby one more time offkey to Tess.

9. "...Baby one more time" By Bowling For Soup- 9/10 To be honest this rendition of the song is better than Britney's! Still has that punk sort of feel to it!!

^Where song comes in movie: When Tess and Jake are in the coffeshop singing to it.

10. "Backstage" By the Donnas- 10/10 I like how the lead singer's voice is kind of in the background and I like how they blend electric with acoustic guitar. All in all pretty good

^Where song comes in movie: When Tess is backstage getting ready to go onstage

11. "She is beautiful" by Andrew W.K.- 11/10 I LOVE the beginning with the creative guitar. This is more of hiphop/punk and is VERY good!

^Where song comes in movie: When Anna as Tess is being passed around the audience of the talk show

12. "I wonder" by Diffuser- 8/10 Has sort of a Simple Plan feel but other than that nothing special it has cool voice range though!

^Where song comes in movie: ?

13. "Beauty Queen" by Lash- 10/10 Again more PUNK and this tune will stay stuck in your head! This is a perfect song to play when putting on makeup or getting ready haha!

^Where song comes in movie: When Tess as Anna runs into her room to get the fortune cookie!

14. "Just let me cry" by Ashlee Simpson- 11/10 Just because Ashlee Simpson is Jessica SImpson's little sister, don't be prejudiced about this song cause this is one of the best on the album! It's a mix of pop/ballad and it's very good!

^Where song comes in movie: When Anna gets out of the car and is walking through her high school and finds that someone is wearing the same shirt as her the horrors!

15. "What a wonderful world" by Joey Ramone- 6/10 I think this song is in Madeline too but yeah anyways... This is another good rendition of a song thumping guitar though!!

^Where song comes in movie: When Anna as Tess is riding on the motorcycle with Jake!

16. "Fortune Cookie" by Rolfe Kent- 10/10 This song is an eye-opener because the album goes from PUNK PUNK PUNK to classic and it's a little strange but this song is good it basically reflects on the entire movie of when it had classical music. Very cute and worth listening to!!

^Where song comes in movie: When they are at the restaruant, in the teachers lounge, at the wedding basically everywhere!

Best songs on the album in my opinion: Happy Together, Take me Away, Brand New Day, She is Beatiful, Just Let Me Cry, Ultimate

Best ROMANTIC songs: Brand New Day since it is the only ballad on the album

Best UPBEAT LOVING LIFE SONG: What I like about you, Ultimate

THIS WAS A GREAT ALBUM FOR ALL AGES I REALLY ENJOYED IT I HOPE YOU DID TOO!

5.0 out of 5 stars punk/pop heaven, October 12, 2003
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
This really is a fantastic album, full to the brim with infectious pop/punk tracks. The album begins with "Ultimate" sung by star of the movie Lindsay Lohan. I was surprised about what a good voice the young star had and she carries the pop song song very well.
Next we have "Happy together" performed by Simple plan which is played in the credits of the film. This is one of Simple plans best and I was very happy they included this track on the album, its upbeat and funky. "What I like about you" and "The art of losing", the nxt two songs are both suitably fun punk tracks with a dash a funky pop/rock vibes thrown in.
"Brand New day", track 5, is one of the few slower songs on the album, it doesn't stand out as anything special, but does well at what it is.
Tracks 6 and 7 "Me against the world" and "Take me away" are two of the best songs on the album. 'Me against the world' by the Halo friendlies has a perfect rock/punk/pop tune with smart lryics thrown in for good measure. Christina Vidal's version of "Take me away" is not as good as the original sung by Aussie group Lash (who are also featured on this album), but the song is so good it sounds great anyway.

Bowling for Soup's punk cover of the Britney Spears hit "Baby one more time" is fantastic, much better then the Spears whiney original. Next we have the Donnas with the fiesty "Backstage" followed by "She is Beautiful" and "I wonder", both again delivering the goods and are deliciously infectious. Next we have the Australian band Lash with "Beauty Queen" and then the super punked up version of "What a wonderful world", this being a particuly enjoyable listen. The last track is instrumental.

Overall, this is a perect punk/pop/rock album, which really is suitable for all ages.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
This cd has some really fingertapping tracks that you can listen to again and again. It's a great choice to play at a party. We played this cd in one of our school's pool parties and everyone was singing and dancing along and had a great time and said that the songs were really catchy and that they too wanted to buy the cd. I definietly recommend this cd. It is truly an A+. Some of mine and my friends fav. tracks: Ultimate, Take Me Away, Me Against the World and Happy Together.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
Overall, the CD is great! I have to admit the I like the first 1/2 better, but that's just me.

Ultimate- 5/5 Great song. Really makes me wanna quit what I'm doing and start dancing!

Happy Together- 5/5 LOVE IT! One of my favorite songs on the CD. Again it makes me want to dance!

What I Like About You- 5/5 Superior! Love the lyrics and has a catchy tune that sticks in my head for days.

The Art of Losing- 4/5 Pretty good. I like the chorus, but the rest of song is only 0.k.

Brand New Day- 4/5 Good song. It's not exactly my type of music.

Me vs. the World- 4/5 The lyrics are totally true! But it's not my favorite.

Take Me Away- 2/5 I hardly ever pay attention to this song. It's not my kind of music.

..Baby One More Time (Intro)- 5/5 Chad Murray does an awesome job singing bad. Pretty hilarious. I'm glad it's only an intro, otherwise I couldn't stand listening to it for long!

...Baby One More Time- 5/5 I'm not a huge Brittany fan, but I do love this song.

Backstage- 3/5 It's alright, but not much point in the lyrics.

She is Beautiful- 4/5 Great Song. Love the tune!

I wonder- 2/5 Not my type.

Beauty Queen- 3/5 Pretty good, but not something I'd want to listen to much.

Just Let me Cry- 3/5 It's O.K, but I prefer other songs.

What A Wonderful World 4/5 Like it lots! Nice tune.

Fortune Cookie- 4/5 Freeeeeaaaaky! It sent shivers up my spine!

Overall, I'd reccomend this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars First track is the best, July 2, 2004
This review is from: Freaky Friday (Audio CD)
Seeing the film left me on a high, as did the music. So I just had to get the soundtrack! Lindsay Lohan's "Ultimate" (played over end credits) is the best song of the whole album, and the song I can't get out of my head. It's the perfect song to sing along to about that special guy in your life, especially as the lyrics match so well. And you can act out Lindsay Lohan's 'rock out' act!

The rest of the tracks, to be honest, aren't really my kinda scene. Ultimate is one of the rare tracks I do like, that has a rocky edge to it. The rest of the tracks that I don't recognise from the movie, I don't really like. The ones that I do recognise from the movie include: Christina Vidal "Take Me Away" (the faux band in the movie's song), Chad Michael Murray "...Baby One More Time" (intro - very cringe-worthy, and lifted straight from the movie, a guy should not be allowed to go that high!), Bowling For Soup "...Baby One More Time", and Joey Ramone "What A Wonderful World". The last two throw different lights on the songs, and they are utterly terrific!

If you liked the movie, and you loved the songs and Lindsay's voice, BUY this! It's an absolute necessity to have in your collection!
