Keith Ingham is a marvellous pianist, a peerless interpreter of classic songs from many genres, mostly from the first half of the twentieth century. The sensitive arrangements and delicate playing on this disc make for superior examples of songs sung by or associated with Fred Astaire. Bob Reitmeier has had a long association with Ingham and his clarinet playing reveals tone and technique suited to the occasion. This is a disc that will continue to delight after many plays. The subtleties and nuances grow with repeated listenings!

I was excited to see the song "By Myself" included on this CD.It was the reason I made the purchase. Well, I sent it back. There are no vocals on it at all! Perhaps I misunderstood the description of the CD, so I assume others might do the same thing. If you want to hear Fred Astaire, you won't listen to him here! |
