I purchased this book due to the research i am conducting on behalf of the Royal Australian Signal Corps honour & Awards.This book is about a former member of the Corps from the First War and his action to prevent an ambush on the then Governor General of the Sudan during the early 1920's. He was awarded the Emprie Gallantry Medal late exchanged in 1940 for the George Cross thus becoming the first Australian to be awarded the George Cross. A great life story on this long forgotten Australian Hero
