Cute,

This is a cute way to get kids to try things. Using these is the only way I can get my daughter to eat a salad! Wonderfully made!

My daughter began using these at age two. At four years old, she still loves eating with them. We're on our second set for our youngest daughter. Very cute and the chopsticks pick up the food really well.

Better for 3/4 yrs & up,

A friend gave us a set of these when we moved to Asia. Incidentally, we also got a number of similar sets so we can compare to some extent. We have a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old. This set of chopsticks holds up pretty well, comparably, particularly as the pieces come apart for washing. I like the fact that you can put other chopsticks into the holder, in case the ones supplied get broken or lost (... as things do with two little ones). However, I find the chopsticks themselves too finnickey for either kid to use. Instead of just moving open and closed, they really will cross over if you try to grab something too tightly, or will shift when food is grabbed. My 3 yr old cannot use these, he prefers his clothes-pin style chopsticks, and out 1 yr old simply enjoys pulling these apart. They will be better for older kids to really learn the dexterity necessary for real chopsticks use, but at these ages they are still a bit advanced.

Didn't work out as planned for us,

Our child loves rice. He especially loves to go to Japanese restaurants and use the chopsticks. We had been binding the chopsticks together (since he hasn't mastered the correct way yet) with a rolled up piece of paper (the one the chopsticks come in) and a rubber band. We saw these cute little chopstick holders and thought, not only would they be fun, but it'd be less work; I'd grab the little holder out of my purse and pop the restaurant's chopsticks in. Well, the holes in the "legs" are square so they do not accommodate round chopsticks. That means, I'd have to tote the plastic chopsticks with us to the restaurant if our son wants to use his holder. That's why I rated it "okay".

These are so fun and easy to use. My 11 year old is eating her breakfast cereal with them. It is nice you can use even disposable chopsticks and it is easy to wash.

Confused!!,

I must offer a caveat at the beginning of this review as we have not actually used the chopsticks holder. Based on the photographs of this item I expected to receive two sets of holders for a boy and a girl. In fact I was apparently arbitrarily sent just the boy. It was not clear to me that this would be the case and had I known I would have requested the "girl" for my daughter. If this turns out to be a question of order fulfillment problems I will amend this review accordingly.
