Book Description

June 2002
Get Fred!

You can learn a lot from a mailman! Let Mark Sanborn, internationally acclaimed author and speaker, introduce you to Fred the postman and his remarkable way of making the ordinary extraordinary!

Everyone makes a difference. The only question at the end of the day is, What kind of difference did you make?

Everything is built on relationships. It is the humanness that makes a business great, not the businessness.

You must continually create value for others, and it doesn’t have to cost a penny. You can replace money with imagination. The object is to outthink your competition rather than to outspend them.

You can reinvent yourself regularly. No matter where you live, what job you hold, or what industry you work in, you wake up every morning with a blank slate and you can make your business and your life anything you choose!

5.0 out of 5 stars Do you want to be Extraordinary??, August 30, 2002
By
This review is from: The Fred Factor: Every Person's Guide to Making the Ordinary Extraordinary! (Paperback)
Mark Sanborn's book, The Fred Factor, is the simplest, yet most impressive book on helping people turn their lives from ordinary to extraordinary. The transformational power of this book is that it pulls numerous seemingly insignificant examples from everyday life to illustrate how simple it is to actually do this. Inspired by the selfless and inspiring acts of Mark's postman, we are treated to a hundred different ways of how to make our everyday lives extraordinary! So much of our lives we have been raised to find an extraordinary job, marry an extraordinary spouse, become a member of an extraordinary house of worship, write an extraordinary book, when in fact, the focus has been all wrong! External events, people, or circumstances do not dictate living an extraordinary life. It is mastered and executed by YOU! Just this whole shift in focus is enough to motivate most of us out of our futility and into changing ourselves to that different life we are searching for. This book is empowering and will open your eyes to the infinite possibilities and goodness of people and circumstances. And that is something that is sorely missing in the world today. Imagine what the world would be if everyone realized that everything they need to make a difference was right there within themselves! After reading this book, you'll have the tools to change your world into an extraordinary one. Best of all, you'll be able to start this incredible journey the moment you pick up this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars not helpful because of its basicness, February 17, 2012
This review is from: The Fred Factor: Every Person's Guide to Making the Ordinary Extraordinary! (Paperback)
This would be a good book for the very beginner or junior high student. The premise is that the mailman named Fred was so great because he provided personal service for the persons along his route. and thats about it. Provide personal service, really get to know your customers and your staff and you will become a Fred. Or a super person.
