There comes a time in everyone's life when they need ask themselves, "What am I willing to give up for novelty ice cube trays?" Alright, maybe not everyone's life, but you're reading this review, so it's probably on your mind.

The tray only comes with four boat molds and four "iceberg" molds, which means they're not really practical if you're having a party or if more than two people want ice at the same time. (Although, who am I to say that two people and little frozen boats isn't a party?) It's also a bit of a pain to release the ice from its silicone mold. But once you do, you can have minutes of fun re-enacting the tragic voyage of the SS Titanic until either the ice melts or your fingers go numb.

If you're the type of person who, like me, lives alone and is easily amused, and enjoys reaping the attention-getting rewards of posting photos of these types of things on social networking sites, then by all means, you could do worse by your $[insert whatever price the Amazon algorithm fairy has come up with for today].

I am appalled at how insensitive this product is to Leonardo DiCaprio's family. This is too soon after such a horrible tragedy. To see the realistic ice ship crash off the glacier in my Gin was brutal. To make matters worse the ship melts and disappears into a sea of Gin as if the event never happened. I accidentally swallowed a half melted ship and it was like swallowing death.

Too soon Fred and all your friends... Too soon.

GREAT for any dentite! As a licensed practitioner in the moderately-corrupt state of Chicago... err... I mean Illinois, I can attest to the anatomical accuracy of this ice mold. Someone at some point actually made took an impression of (made a mold out of) a well-designed maxillary denture, probably of female origin. I can't attest to the subsequent ice prostheses occlusion without a recipricating arch, but I would imagine it's there. And even then, it's made of ice, so you could probably equilibrate the things relatively easily.

I find it humorous that someone actually complained that the ice melted too fast, but along that line, these ice shapes are perfect for Scotch. I mean perfect. They're the right overall shape and thin enough to slowly and evenly melt, beginning with that sharp nasal introduction followed by a slow and smooth ride to the end.

Excellent product - comes three to a package, so I'd recommend buying two trays. The ice part of the guitar really holds its shape well to the stick, but each one is pretty large. Stirs work best for us in highball glasses, but also work in wide shorter classes. Tray and sticks seem to be very durable. We've had them for over a year and it still makes me smile when I grab a glass with one of these stirs.

Style Name: COOLAMARI Octopus
I was extremely excited about the cute ice cube trays from this company, so I bought not only this one, but the yeti, centipede, shark, robot, and diamonds. When I received them, I washed them by hand as well as I could. After 3 loads of ice in the Coolamari, (if you are the person to eat ice raw like I do occasionally)the cubes taste horribly of plastic. Not only is it horrible, but the plastic taste lingers in your mouth after the ice is dissolved. I'm hoping the taste goes away after washing again and more ice.

Making ice in this tray (or any of the trays by this company) is a skill on it's own. The trays are extremely flexible, and in order to fill in the tentacles you have to pour water all the way to the top. The only way you wouldn't spill water everywhere is if you have a ginormous freezer with a flat tray that's perfectly level and you pour the water in the tray while it's already in the freezer.

Ice cube extraction is annoying. Something is always stuck somewhere, whether it's the legs or the head or both. The first cube I extracted shot across the floor and broke into pieces. If you want these to pop out fully in shape, you have to stand there and slowly work them out. This is going to freeze your fingers and even then you have a 50% chance of them breaking.

I really wanted to like these because they look so cute in the pictures, and the molds are adorable. I also really like the idea of little shapes of ice, but after dealing with these, I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

VERRRY cool item and versatile too! Highly recommended! I melted some chocolate chips in the microwave so they were "just" melted and not "too" hot, then filled the mold, let it set to cool solid in the 'frig and voila'....cool "Easter Chocolates" (get it?). Looked cool and tasted even better. I plan on making Moai mini soaps next. I figure as long as the liquid is not too hot, it should be okay to fill, since it's silicone.

As a gift for my boyfriend for his birthday was great. Very unusual. He loved it. Just make sure you clean it really good before using it. I did and then made the icecubes. When he used the cubes, there was a powdery film on the top of his drink from the cubes. I suggest making the cubes and throwing them away until no more powder remains, washing between uses.
It is very flimsy, and you need to put it on a flat tray or plate ..so you can get it to the freezer without spilling it.
