Extraction is also quite difficult. The little guys just don't 'pop' out of the frame. You have to place a LOT of pressure on their heads... so much so that they usually wind up breaking. Your fingers will freeze in the process.
Overall, it's adorable. But not very practical.
It works pretty well, overall. No complaints!
It is difficult to get exactly the right level of water into the mold. If there's too much, you'll get a rough bottom to the mold. If not enough, you'll be missing some of the details of the tentacles. The next time I try it will put the empty mold into the freezer on a flat, sturdy surface and then fill the cavities with a small pouring device with which I can fill it up right to the top of the mold.
The mold is not very expensive and it does a great job. Definitely worth it if you like the idea of having stylized octopus-shaped ice cubes.
After my initial post of this review I read someone else's where they were claiming it left a horrible taste that lasted a while. Therefore, I put ice I made in it in water and drank some. I tried to tell if I could taste anything, but then realized that if I was trying to taste it and couldn't, then it must not be a problem.

Not as detailed as I was hoping for. The actual mold does not have any eyes or mouth which I was hoping for. The material is good though.Published 2 hours ago by Brady
Adorable, but it's made of very floppy rubber so when you fill it with liquids it's hard not spill them when placing in the freezer. Read morePublished 13 months ago by Yahaira Nunez
It's a stiffer rubber so as a soap maker, it doesn't work for me. The legs are too shallow and break off when popping it out of the mold. Read morePublished 14 months ago by Jennifer
