Great quality and fun for kids!,

This plate's quality is great. I bought 6 plates for my daughter and my friends' kids. All of them like it a lot. We have a somewhat picky eater who would not eat a lot of vegetables, but on this plate even the vegetables look appealing enough for her to eat. I am going to buy more as birthday gifts. Would recommend this plate for anyone!
The only thing I was surprised by was the size of the plate. I didn't pay attention to the discription of the size when I was buying it and expected a bigger plate, but it's actually a desert-size plate. But it's perfect for a child and still a lot of space to decorate the face with food.

Fun, high quality,

Someone gave this as a gift to my 3 month old son. Obviously he's not ready for it yet (we're now, at 10 months, squarely in the middle of the "pick up and throw" phase of eating), which means that I get to use it! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this plate - it's made of heavy ceramic and the glaze has held up to almost nightly washing (I told you, I use this plate a lot!). I don't think I will give it to the little guy until he is able to eat dinner without flipping his plate - but I think that's the intended audience anyway. Visiting children get a big kick out of "Fred," and are much more willing to try new foods. Cute, high quality plate!

I'm currently on this kick to get all the plastics kitchen ware out of our house. It is very difficult to find children's china or stoneware dinner ware. Everything seems to be plastic or melamine which is not microwave safe... I find that terribly inconvenient. Don't toddlers eat warm food too? I was excited to find this and thought it'd be great fun for him. I like dressing Fred's face up when I serve my son dinner. It's great fun and turns mealtime into a bit more than just carrots and peas! The only disappointment is that it is rather heavy. I allow my son to help us clear the table and he sometimes has a hard time carrying his plate to the sink because it's so heavy. Sort of pricey too although I guess it's more of a gift item than something you'd buy more than one of.
