5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality and fun for kids!
This plate's quality is great. I bought 6 plates for my daughter and my friends' kids. All of them like it a lot. We have a somewhat picky eater who would not eat a lot of vegetables, but on this plate even the vegetables look appealing enough for her to eat. I am going to buy more as birthday gifts. Would recommend this plate for anyone!

I don't have the plate - am considering buying for grandchildren but why doesn't Fred have any non-white friends. Don't know if I will actually buy it - since I would prefer to have my grandson at least have the option of a friend that looks more like him. I'm surprised the manufacturer has not already come up with a larger variety of faces to choose from or collect.

The only thing I was surprised by was the size of the plate. I didn't pay attention to the discription of the size when I was buying it and expected a bigger plate, but it's actually a desert-size plate. But it's perfect for a child and still a lot of space to decorate the face with food.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, high quality, November 1, 2010
This review is from: Fred and Friends Food Face, Boy (Kitchen)
Someone gave this as a gift to my 3 month old son. Obviously he's not ready for it yet (we're now, at 10 months, squarely in the middle of the "pick up and throw" phase of eating), which means that I get to use it! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this plate - it's made of heavy ceramic and the glaze has held up to almost nightly washing (I told you, I use this plate a lot!). I don't think I will give it to the little guy until he is able to eat dinner without flipping his plate - but I think that's the intended audience anyway. Visiting children get a big kick out of "Fred," and are much more willing to try new foods. Cute, high quality plate!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute concept, February 11, 2011

I'm currently on this kick to get all the plastics kitchen ware out of our house. It is very difficult to find children's china or stoneware dinner ware. Everything seems to be plastic or melamine which is not microwave safe... I find that terribly inconvenient. Don't toddlers eat warm food too? I was excited to find this and thought it'd be great fun for him. I like dressing Fred's face up when I serve my son dinner. It's great fun and turns mealtime into a bit more than just carrots and peas! The only disappointment is that it is rather heavy. I allow my son to help us clear the table and he sometimes has a hard time carrying his plate to the sink because it's so heavy. Sort of pricey too although I guess it's more of a gift item than something you'd buy more than one of.

I ordered three Fred Food Face plates and I love them ! I also just ordered two of the Ms for my daughter and myself. These plates are fun and make for a great time around the dinner table. Talking, laughing with my kids (3 of them). I would recommend this product 100% I do wish they where plastic plates, but I am happy with them. I am buying a Mr. and Ms plate for some friends that are getting married. I think they are fun at ANY age !

these plates are well made.
My daughter loves to eat from them.
The only downside that I can think of is that they are a little bit heavy for a small child to carry.

4.0 out of 5 stars for slightly older children, November 17, 2011
This review is from: Fred and Friends Food Face, Boy (Kitchen)
okay, i purchased this for my nephew... he has got to be one of the world's pickiest eaters!
this helps a bit; makes the eating more of a game for him...
for all who are pointing out that they thought they were getting melamine plates? honestly, when it says microwaveable, did you not catch that? i seriously hope you do NOT microwave your kids' food on melamine dinner ware... not safe at all!
so, yeah... it is more like what i grew up with... or what my parents grew up with... and they did fine...
and the plate? love it. kind of thinking of getting one for the husband...

i love this plate. Super sturdy and ceramic instead of cheap plastic. Sometimes I want to arrange my food on his funny little face! Excellent gift for toddlers and small children. It's a gift that gets used and appreciated day after day.

I bought the plate for my son. It is smaller than a dinner plate, but made very well. He loves the way the plate looks. I would recommend the plate to anyone. The plate was shipped very quickly.

I bought two of these for my nephews ages 3 and 5. They weren't that excited when they unwrapped the gift but now that they've been using them for a few weeks they LOVE them. It helps them eat foods they normally wouldn't touch. It's ceramic (I didn't realize that) but durable and good quality. I recommend this!
