Product Description

Fred and Friends. Fred likes to glug his beer right from the bottle, but Mrs. Fred is appalled. So Fred went out and did something about it-he created this bottle-in-a-glass as an homage to real men like him. Hopside Down is handblown, precisely crafted and unexpectedly deluxe. Individual Gift boxed.

It is made too thin and probably will break the first time it is knocked over. Devon B.  |  10 reviewers made a similar statement

2.0 out of 5 stars Neat concept but not worth it. February 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
This glass got me really excited, but in practice - It's crap. I love interesting designs, I try to surround myself with objects that I want to use. Typically I drink right from the bottle - which is why I liked the concept for the hopside down glass.

The first issue is it does not hold 12 oz of beer, a beer glass needs room for beer and a little head. this one had neither. That was one strike against it.

The second is that the bottom is far too smooth, so any slightly un-level surface results on the glass sliding a bit.

The last issue is it is built like a Christmas ornament, and if it tips over, kiss it good bye. Glass ware falls, if the user is getting tipsy, the glass should be able to sustain an accidental over turning onto the table. I've cracked sturdier eggs.

What a waste of money. I feel even worse as I bought these as a gift for two friends, I wonder if they broke theirs yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Glass for Drinks August 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun glass to use with drinks. Holds a 12oz beer perfectly (if you can pour without any foam and don't mind taking for first sip while the glass is still on the table). Double walls seem to keep the beer cooler for longer than a regular glass. Unfortunately, the glass is a little light in weight so I'm nervous about tipping it over and breaking it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun idea, bad result December 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
This is an interesting novelty item for anyone who likes to drink beer out of a glass. It is made too thin and probably will break the first time it is knocked over. Treat it like a wine glass. Also there is a small hole in the bottom so when washing, water/condensation enters the "hull" of the glass which takes a long time to dry out which ruins the fun of this glass.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst buy ever..not worth the money!!! July 19, 2010

poorly made product...Very thin glass. Does not seal..so water gets between the glass and leaves rings, water bubbles...mold!!!! Very over priced for a poor product. Do Not Buy!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Really unique and fun glasses October 7, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
These glasses are really fun and unique. Unfortunately one of mine has water (fog) inside of the glass. I did not wash them in the dishwater, but it seems the hole on the bottom where it was blown may not be airtight...for the price this shouldn't happen. I may try to send it back but in today's busy world...things like this are put on the back burner.
Hopefully this is an unusual happening, because if it wasn't for the "fog" they would be great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Fragile!!! October 13, 2009
I just bought this tonight and was in wonder over how nice it looks. I put the cup in the sink to wash in the morning and it barley hit the side. Next thing I know, I am looking at fifteen dollars literally down the drain. No I was not drunk! Okay, it looks nice, but it is manufactured to a point that if it hits the side of your sink it will break? I was expecting better quality from a fifteen dollar glass. Only buy this glass if you plan to never use it, and only keep it as a piece of art, other then that forget about it!

1.0 out of 5 stars It exploded September 10, 2011
By Shanon
I have wanted this glass for a long time and I finally got it the other day when I saw it was on sale for half off at a store. I bought a shot glass along with it and before I had left the mall, the shot glass, by just being in the same bag as this glass and barely jostling as I walked, broke the inside region. Thankfully they let me exchange it.

I had been using the glass for quite some time and it was my favorite! Then, just now, as I was washing dishes, I moved a bowl this glass was sitting next to, which caused it to tip over and hit the sink. I mean it barely fell over but it didn't just crack, it literally exploded! Glass went everywhere and it sounded like a light bulb had just popped. The only thing I can thing of is the water was too hot and somehow the gas inside the glass expanded and the fall made it explode. Thank god I wasn't holding on to it though.

While I loved this glass while I had it, I won't be getting another one because it's just too flimsy and I'm terrified it will explode again when I'm washing it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute concept, flimsy materials
The concept for this is great. Beer bottle in a glass? Who would like that?

But then I got it in and it had a hole near the bottom (on the base, not inside the glass). Read more

It's a really cool glass but I wish it could fit 12oz of liquid and it was made of glass instead of plastic.

3.0 out of 5 stars A fun stocking stuffer,
It doesn't hold a lot of beer, so don't give it to your twenty-something nephew----but it's a fun gift idea.

The concept for this glass is great. I get a lot of compliments on the glass and it does keep the beer cool and prevents the glass from sweating. However, the glass is too thin. Read more
