I love this product. I made Blueberry Muffins w/Streusel in them and decided I needed more than 12, so I ordered 4 more. Mine did not stain at all.
The instructions indicate clearly that using a spray-on oil to oil the cups will cause discoloration, but nowhere is it said that baking cupcakes ONE TIME will ruin the cups with permanent stains. After ONE USE, each and every one of my cups was stained anywhere the cake batter was thin enough to over-cook slightly (such as at the edges of the cupcakes or where one or two drops of batter were left on the edge or outside of the cups.
Naturally, the cups will still work as cupcake molds, but why the he11 would I pay so much money for a mold that is marketed as a porcelain-look-alike product that stains the first time it is used? I certainly could have been more fastidious in my placement of the cake batter, but I wasn't particularly careless and I was under the impression that I would have been warned (by the box) if there were a problem (e.g. such as was the case with the spray-on oil).
This is particularly disappointing to me because my daughter is about to turn one and I thought these would make super cute cake molds for her 1st birthday ... so, what I paid a whole lot of money for was only dashed hopes for a cute party idea.
I have noticed that a more recent review gives a complicated pre-use treatment plan for avoiding stains.Read more ›

Bought these as a gag gift for my sis-in-law. They got a good laugh. Haven't baked in them, so can't attest to the quality. But the humor factor was worth the price!Published 1 month ago by Valleygirl
They're a cute gag idea, but they're terrible to bake in. Batter spills over the side when its baking, cant get it out once it has baked. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Clo
Fred and Friends really needs to work on adjusting their sizes. The reason these are called Muffin Tops is because the pants are too small, just like in real life! Read morePublished 1 month ago by Larson
