I purchased these Key Identifiers on September 17, 2011. It is now October 31, 2011 and the identifiers are ripped in certain areas and the paint has rubbed off. I am really disappointed in this product because I was under the impression that they would last much longer than a month and a half. I only use the key with the identifier on it twice a day to open a storage closet so the breakdown of the material is not due to excessive use. Like I said in my title....they are very cute but they are NOT well made. I will try and add pictures so you can see for yourself how they hold up to light use for a little over a month.

These keys covers stuck together and ripped at the seems within 3 days of getting them. I was bummed because they are so cute, but it was a waste of money.

I absolutely loved these rubber monkey key identifiers - they were extremely cute, and I received many comments about them. Unfortunately, they started to fall apart almost immediately. Within a few days, several of the monkeys had started to lose their features when the coloring rubbed off of them. A couple of the monkeys split apart within weeks and no longer stayed on the keys. I did actually have one that lasted several months, although it eventually fell off too. They were cute but not long enough to justify the purchase.

So I owned these MonKey Identifiers for a little over 6 months, and while they were functional I enjoyed them and got plenty of compliments. I bought these as a unique and novel alternative to the plain ol' colored rings. They are made of cheapy soft flexible plastic/rubber, a little softer than what I expected, but then again I didn't expect much for something that's six dollars and made in China. The caps are a little thicker than expected, increasing the width of the keys by a good 2-3mm, so my bundle of 5 keys was equivalent to a stack of 15. A little bulky to say the least, but nothing I couldn't live with (just look at the pics and you'll see what I mean).

The problem lied in the durability (or lack thereof) of the caps over time. At first they began to stretch a little beyond it's original shape/tolerance. I also occasionally leave my keys in the car (as these were used for work keys), well a few sessions baking in the Southern California heat proved detrimental to the MonKey's lives as they do in fact melt and began to stick to each other. Upon realizing this I never left them in my car again, but it was too late and the damage was done. A little gross at first, then they began to crack and crumble from the alternating temperature extremes.

In short, these are fine so long as they are not exposed to too much heat (leaving them in a stable or air-conditioned environment would be ideal)... and you don't mind a little extra bulk for your set of keys.

Super cute and I know which key is which now with a glance. They are a bit flimsy as other reviews state but going on a month I have had no issues with breakage.

They are really cute & colorful & great way to tell the keys apart with different colors but the faces are starting to fade already & one is starting to tear

I have purchased two sets of these MonKeys. The first set I used to color code my keys for home and work and loved them so much, they just wore out completely. So I ordered a second set. I will say the only reason I did not give this product a five star rating is because they do wear out, especially if they are stretched across a larger key. In that case, they begin to split sooner than they probably should. Also, I noticed in hot climates, they tend to get a little sticky, as if they are going to eventually melt in the heat. That was not a huge problem for me, but for those people in very hot and humid climates, they may not work as well. Otherwise, I think they are so cute and gave me a way to immediately identify different keys as I needed them - making it easy with all the keys on one key chain.

These are made of silicone and melt when sun block touches them. I had to give an extra star, though, because I enjoyed them so much for many months, until summer rolled around and they melted from the slightest bit of sun block on my hands. I know this about silicone from a warning label on my silicone swim fins. Silicone is a nice fun squishy material, perfect for monkey key covers, except for the fact that people will have to use their keys in the summer and will likely get sun block on them. Then they melt and make a mess.

Cute little key covers.

It would only work on normal sized keys (household keys), if you have anything that has a bigger head, it wouldn't fit.

Plastic is smooth. But it'll eventually go hard & brittle and break off. Took about a year for that to happen, good thing it was a 5 pack.

I bought this to dampen the sound the keys have against each other, it did muffle it.

Bottomline:
- Cute, good price
- Does eventually break, don't count on longevity.

They are cute but not really good for a keyring with all 6 keys as they are very bulky. I was hoping they would be thinner but had not bothered to look at the product dimensions, so that's my bad. They also were really tough to get on the key ring so I cut a slit down the top of each one to allow me to just have to loop the metal key, rather than the plastic. That was helpful but I'm guessing they will fall apart. As soon as I can find better ones, these are getting tossed.
