4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not perfect April 12, 2009

It is a denser and harder plastic than I expected. It looks good, and should last for a long time.

The main problem is that the holes are not deep enough so the toothpicks tend to fall out if bumped. I recommend using an ice pick to deepen the holes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crossed eye voodoo September 26, 2007
By Muee
This is very cute. It's got crossed eyes etc. The details are very nice. It feels pretty solid too. I guess would be even better if there is a standing version of it.

Very cute item. Great for entertaining- just throw him next to a crock of meatballs!! Great conversation piece! Doesn't hold an enormous amount of toothpicks, though.

So after reading the reviews, I was ready to get the drill out with a fine bit, and "fix" the holes in my toothpick holder.

But first, I wanted to test the holes. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Fred is Funny
Fred is funny but most of the holes for the toothpicks were small or plugged up with the gray coating. Used a drill to make them bigger and ended up chipping some of the gray.
