5.0 out of 5 stars Super Cute and Super Useful! August 19, 2010

I bought this a few months ago and didn't get around to reviewing it until now. I'm so glad that I purchased it. I love anything cute for the kitchen along with dinosaurs, so when I saw this I had to have it (even though I was/am a totally broke college student)! My boyfriend and I have used it every single time that we have made pasta, which is usually about 1-2 times a week and it still looks brand new. I love how such a simple kitchen tool can brighten up my mood when I'm cooking. The other pasta scoop that I have hasn't been used a single time since I received the Pastasaurus and it probably won't for a long time. :-) If you love fun/quirky/cute {but useful!} kitchen gadgets, then the Pastasaurus is definitely for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Whimsical and fun March 4, 2011

I admit it - I'm a sucker for cute and kitchy kitchen gadgets. If it's in the shape of an animal or has a funny face, you'll probably find it in my kitchen. Animal House monkey peeler? Check. Alessi Magic Bunny toothpick holder? Check. Alessi Peppino pepper mill? Of course. Now I can add Fred Pastasaurus to my ever-growing list of novelty kitchenwares.

The Pastasaurus is adorable, easy to use, and does the job. My only complaint is that the handle is rather thick, which makes it easy to hold but not so easy to fit into a crowded utensils jar. In fact, the entire implement is nearly twice the size of a conventional pasta strainer, so keep that in mind if you plan to store it in a drawer. It's such a cute tool though - why hide it away?

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Awesome a Year Later December 8, 2011
By SLJ
We've had the Pastasaurus for about a year now (got it for Christmas last year). We use it at least 2-3 times a week and every time it comes out of the dishwasher it looks brand new! Fantastic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute & Functional, a win-win March 5, 2012

I'm the proud owner of a Pastasaurus. When my old pasta spoon broke I was all set to replace it with a boring, plain utensil. I was searching for other kitchen implements on Amazon, and looked to see if even this lowliest of utensils was available cheaply. But lo! This fabulous dinosaur scooper appeared! I was skeptical about the quality, but I do have other Fred products that are both cute and durable. Luckily, Pastasaurus is both! As others have said the handle is chunky, so it does take up a bit of space in the utensil bin. But, really, it is the king of utensils and deserves the extra room.

Also, it goes really well with my dinosaur chopsticks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Whimsical and sturdy January 3, 2012

I bought the Pastasaurus because it looked so fun. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how sturdy it is. The plastic is very thick. The surface is tactile, not slippery, which is very nice. It has survived several run-ins with the dishwasher and still looks new.

I'm taking off 1 star because the holes (eyes and nostrils) don't allow water to drain through as efficiently as a typical pasta spoon. I'm not sure how you would solve this problem without compromising the design aesthetic though. Maybe we'll see a Pastasaurus 2.0 evolve in the future.

I hope this company makes more utensils because I would happily replace all my boring black plastic spatulas, spoons, ladles, tongs, etc., with fun monster heads.

5.0 out of 5 stars My wife loves it November 30, 2012

Long thought extinct and completely disregarded by the religious community we now have the ultimate spaghetti serving utensil. It combines the raging unbridled will of a dinosaur with the pasta scooping abilities of a spoon. Nothing can beat it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adorable. November 30, 2012

I couldn't resist a colorful, dinosaur-shaped kitchen utensil. I have no complaints. It works just as expected and it's cute to boot. Admittedly, I still find it quicker to use my hands and grab spaghetti like an untrained child, but no pasta scoop has ever changed that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Adorable but useless
I had to buy this because it's so cute, but it serves absolutely no purpose in my kitchen. It cannot pick up pasta at all, but I do not regret buying it.
