Being a rather husky person, I have had a difficult time tracking down Fred Perry polos that fit me and when I saw this shirt in XXL I was skeptical that it would actually fit. The sleeves are very short and snug around the seam so it really shows off my muscles but it feels a tad short on me. I could stand to lose a few pounds but I still feel confortable in my new shirt. I am very pleased to have actually found one in my size as I have always been a bit of a FP "label whore"

Update. After a couple wash/ line drys the shirt is considerably shorter in length. It fits perfectly but barely reaches my waistline. Fred Perry should really look into lengthening this line a tad... at least for the XXL

This is a good polo. I'd likely rate it 4 stars, but I gave it 3 because of the quality difference that now exists between new and older Fred Perry polos.

It fits fine and it seems to be quality. BUT... there is a massive difference between the Chinese made polos and the ones that are/were made in England. If you've never worn an original Fred Perry- then I guess you'd never know the difference.

But the fit, thickness and general quality of the English Fred Perrys are far superior. I have one particular Fred Perry (made in England) that I've worn and washed for nearly 14 years and it still looks and fits better than the Chinese polos I've bought within the last few years.

Again- you won't be disappointed with this shirt if you view it as just another polo. But do not expect original Fred Perry quality. It just seems like their polos are most affected by the transition from England to China.

The Fred Perry shirts I purchased looked great when I pulled them out of the plastic wrap. But, when I opened the one and held it up, I new immediately they were smaller than the size large that I expected. I just happened to have a brand new La Coste shirt, of the same "large" size nearby. Before I even tried it on. I laid the Fred Perry exactly over the La Coste. Wow! What a difference!
Though both larges, the Fred Perry was inches shorter in all directions, Underneath the Fred Perry, I could see that the La Coste was at least 2 inches wider across the whole body of the shirt. The length was even more obvious. and maybe 3 inches shorter.
The sleeves were short and tighter as well. The La Coste Large fit me great. The Fred Perry was obviously short and tight. One wash would have made it unwearable, So I returned them both. I live in these types of shirts. This shirt was already
overpriced @ $85, but to get what amounts to a "medium" with about 15% less material than another brand, this really was not a fantastic purchase. I did get the shirts on a "lightning deal " though, so that really helped. I liked the material and style too.
If I had known they run small, I would have purchased a size up and this review would be completely different.

The overall quality of the fabric is good, however, I found the shirts to run small for their size. My biggest issue is with the tag. I don't know if I just have a bad shirt, but the tag is really bothersome on my neck. Overall, I was expecting a better fit and a tag that wouldn't bother my neck. This is on the high side of what I like to pay for shirts like this, and overall I am disappointed for the price I paid.

THe somewhat small rating is only partly true. The shirt is cut to fit close, but not is not actually tight. It is only 'small' if you prefer a loose fit in the chest and tummy. I'm 200+, with a not-TOO-prominent belly and I love the fit. Overall, a really nice looking, trim fitting shirt. Great for when you want to look dressy-casual.

I am around 6' , 205 lbs, athletic build. Ordered my typical size large at first, but changed to medium at the last minute.

The medium fits perfectly if you want a more modern slim profile. Great quality, nice color, nice sale price for the tropical red.

The Fred Perry Twin Tipped polo is true to size and washes well if you do it right. It looks great on my guy!

A little laundry tip... in an effort to prevent shrinkage, I pulled it out of the dryer while it was still a little damp to finish drying on a WIDE hanger (to avoid shoulder bumps). My guy tried to repeat these steps but hung it immediately after pulling out of the washer and then put it on a regular sized hanger, which resulted in shoulder bumps due to the weight of the water in the fabric along with the too-small hanger. Frustrated, he threw it in with a regular load and dried completely in the dryer. Womp womp... it shrunk a little bit. It's not unwearable, but it's discernable.

So, if you can tolerate a bit of shrinkage, go ahead and launder with regular clothes and dry completely in the dryer. If it fits perfectly before washing, you may want to try my method.

I have lots of Fred Perry polo shirts from over 7 years back and they all still look great. I have varying colors and I can say that Fred Perry makes the best polo shirts in the world. They don't wear out..or at least mine haven't yet. I have a great feeling though that they will NEVER wear out. I mean, my Fred Perrys are my personal favorites and I wear and wash them ever so often..you get the picture. Anyway they fit great. I like the slight trim more than the slim-fit design. They are just too gay for me. lol
