Editorial Reviews

Join Fred in his hilarious journey to find Judy! Hey, it’s Fred in his first movie! And he is in love with the girl next door, Judy (Pixie Lott). But his nemesis neighbor, Kevin, thwarts all attempts Fred makes to see her, and when he finally succeeds in making it over to Judy’s house — she’s moved! With the advice of his super cool dad (John Cena), Fred embarks on an epic journey full of gut-busting fun to find her. So, jump in the kiddie pool and join Fred, Bertha (Jennette McCurdy), and the whole gang for a hilariously good time in FRED: THE MOVIE!

My 6 year old daughter really wanted to watch this movie so I finally caved and agreed to put it on for her. I was able to endure about 15 minutes of this whiny, screechy torturefest before the urge to gouge out my own eardrums with a screwdriver became too overwhelming to bear. Fred is basically an overgrown toddler whose high-pitched whining reaches decible levels previously unknown to mankind. This kid's perpetual temper tantrum deserves a spanking and a time-out at best. How it ever yielded him his own film (not to mention a sequel...my ears hurt just thinking about it) will forever remain a mystery. Oh the horror...

I don't recommend this for any children or adults. I knew who Fred was when I was in the rental store with my niece, but I reluctantly obliged to her request. Do your children or relatives a favor and DON'T show them this film. There are many better choices out there, and hundreds -- if not THOUSANDS of better titles out there geared at young children. If you're not a young child and you've watched this movie by choice, for shame.

The character Fred was created by a YouTuber and was for a while number one for most subscribers. His character is highly energetic, his voice is manipulated to a higher pitch, and the majority of his videos are him screaming about something.

I will say his ideas can be funny, but I just wished he executed this in a different, less annoying way. I can see children liking him because he is very faced paced and constantly doing SOMETHING to "entertain you". But I'd hate to be the parent that had to listen to hat from across the room.

There are countless other YouTubers out there with BETTER videos. I'd suggest going on YouTube.com and checking out other channels for free rather paying for this.

If it was possible for me to gain access to a time machine I would go back to the moment before I watched this abomination and stab out my own ears and eyes just so a version of me existed that has never seen or heard this crime against humanity.

Fred has so much potential, however the screaming at the camera should be left for Youtube. Yes, the voice gets annoying, but there are some really funny-inside jokes in this movie and the ending "party" is great - very creative! The cameos are great too!

Fred The Movie is based on a Youtube character name Fred Figglehorn created by Lucas Cruikshank who used to be the one who has the most subscribers on Youtube. Fred has a high pitched voice and speaks very fast and he will give you a headache. Fred is very creepy and annoying. He has very awkward temper tantrums like he is diagnosed with high functioning autism.

Fred (Lucas Cruikshank) falls in love with Judy (Pixie Lott), and attempts to get Judy fall in love with him back. Fred gets upset because his enemy Kevin (Jake Weary) hangs out with Judy and tries to keep Fred away from Judy. Fred tries to get to Judy's house, whenever he got to her house, he realized Judy has moved to a new house. Fred plans a journey to find Judy. Fred is very creepy and annoying.

I think this movie is very annoying, stupid and unwatchable for adults. I had a terrible headache watching this entire movie, I CAN'T STAND LISTENING FRED SCREAMING THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE. It's one of the most annoying movies in my life. Kids would laugh and love this movie, but adults wouldn't. I would not recommend this movie at all. Thumbs down.
