Having enjoyed and played others in the ongoing Buzztime Trivia book series, this newest title from movie actor and comic genius Fred Willard stands now as my favorite movie trivia book. I continue to love this book's unique game format (which prevents your eye from seeing the answers to questions until you turn the page), and the playful and mindbendy questions scattered throughout - care of the mindmeld b'tween Willard and the Buzztime folks - makes for a hell of a fun time. Very educational, as well . . . after having seen Richard Linklater's recent film ME & ORSON WELLES, I've been hungry for all things Orson ever since . . . and this book has an entire game dedicated to stuff about the great but eccentric director of CITIZEN KANE (a.k.a., greatest film ever made). It also, of course, has an entire game dedicated to the films of Fred Willard . . . I was pleasantly surprised to realize that Fred is the only human being who appears in Pixar's WALL-E, for example . . . Basically, all those who love movies will love this trivia game . . . a great summer diversion, and fun for a party of friends or just a party of one. Hat's off to you, Fred!

I've always loved Fred Willard, and I've always loved movies . . . this book gives both! The game doesn't just give questions and answers . . . there are also these great factoid-filled paragraphs after each answer. And while I personally would have loved an entire game dedicated to Elvis Presley movies, I'll take what I can get here in this awesome little book of fun film magic . . . and I even found a question in here about one of my favorite "bad" movies, LASERBLAST from 1978. I love all this great trivia . . . thanks to Fred and Buzztime for making people happy and challenging all of us to really know our stuff!

This Buzztime trivia book makes a great addition to all the others in this series. And of course anything involving Fred Willard is guaranteed to be deeply hilarious and worth checking out. If you find yourself alone on a long bus ride this book is sure to keep you entertained. Great way to kill time and test your movie knowledge.

This is a fun and fascinating book of movie trivia, but what makes it special is that Fred Willard tells personal stories about what gets him excited as a member of the audience. We all know Fred Willard from his many roles in movies directed by Christopher Guest, but here we see a part of Fred that we've never seen before. Fred's love of the Hollywood dream machine is so huge it is simply impossible to contain, and gushes forth in various anecdotes written in his inimitable style. Fred talks about the movies that shaped him, exposing various nooks and crannies of his life. By the end you are ready to join him in a darkened movie theater just to see what happens next!

We were sure we knew everything trivial about trivia, but this teeny book of "over 900 smart, funny and interesting questions" had us hitting the books. And hitting this one against the wall. And that's a compliment. The tome is broken down into 80 games, each with a dozen questions in categories such as Film Firsts, War Films, Film Noir, Musicals, Remakes, Cult Classics). Once you master the confusing set-up and get past the typos (it's "Hayley Mills," not "Haley Mills"), you'll spend time guessing and getting them wrong. No? Then you name the first Shakespearean role Orson Welles played in a film.

Have one of those friends who thinks they know everything about film and movies? Do they strut around all day and start sentences with, "As Kubrick once said..."? Feel like putting them in their place? Buy them this book and level the playing field. Not even the biggest film buff will know all this stuff, plus it's really great fun!

But seriously, I'm so glad I got this book. It's been great fun playing the games in it with my friends and family. Fred Willard is hilarious, and his comedy really shines through here. I can't wait for my next get-together so I can use it again!
