I loved this story, basic plot is a frog is hungry so throws it tongue out and reels in various other animals to eat. Freddie starts off with the normal prey for a frog, then he moves onto what would be his predators in real life, then well his meals get even more and more bizarre. It's a good educational story in that you can discuss with the children you are reading it with which of Freddie's meals he actually would eat in real life as well about how frogs' use their tongues to catch their prey. The story also rhymes, which adds to the fun. The illustrations are fairly basic, the cover art is a pretty good representation of all we ever see of Freddie and the other animals are also very basic. Even though Freddie eats the other animals we don't ever see this, all we see is his tongue touching or wrapping around them.

A really good simple idea done well, I think this would be really successful if ever turned into a physical picture book as well.

I'm a sucker for a good rhyming story book and so is my daughter and Freddie Frog is Hungry is just the ticket.

Kids know about feeling hungry so they can relate to this green frog and what Freddie eats gets giggles from our little girl. As Freddie gets bigger, the giggles get louder.

The added bonus of this book is learning colours along the journey from small frog to humongous frog.

A jolly little book that is one that has to be read again and again.

I read this to one and five year olds, the baby loved the pictures and ryhmes. The five year old would guess the ryhmes and also notice the frog was getting bigger throughout the story, I missed that the first time... Very Very good book, they pick it every time we read and it is my favorite also...

This book is short and my daughter loved it. She has read it several times all by herself. She loves how the frog pictured grows as he eats more and bigger things.

Cute animations and easy reading for beginners. My kids laughed as they saw the frog get bigger and bigger with everything he ate.

I love the book 'Freddie Frog is Hungry!' It is just simply adorable and I love the large type- it make it really easy for young readers to begin reading and follow Freddie in his food quest. Everyone can relate with being hungry and the drawings are
very appealing! This book is highly recommended!

Reminds me of the grouchy ladybug where the creatures get bigger and bigger. Also fun is the recurring, 'I'm so hungry I think I'll eat...' - my Grandson likes to "read" those lines together because he knows what's coming. But best of all is the color identification - that was a surprise but I thought it was GREAT! That the colors are so vivid and beautiful helps with the color appreciation theme. A simple little book - very happy with it!

I am saying frightening because the idea of a frog eating other animals can be surprising for some kids specially for the younger ones. But in general, this should well be best enjoyed by the kids with the rhyming words and all that. With rhyming words and good graphics, it will be a nice read for kids. Found this book after reading Funny Food which could be a humorous take on food for kids to enjoy.
