Editorial Reviews

Review

“A glimpse of Augusta National as you've never seen it.” (Golf World)

“A lot of books have been written about the Masters and the Augusta National Golf Club, but few if any have the authentic dialect of Freddie and Me.” (The New York Times)

“A unique glimpse of Augusta National, but more stirring is the account of his relationship with a one-of-a-kind mentor.” (San Diego Union Tribune)

I thoroughly enjoyed this up close and personal look into one of the most secret and private, not to mention beautiful, venues in the world. Tripp's writing style made for a very enjoyable read. Freddie Bennett's personality shined brightly through the pages of the book, as did many other characters including caddies and a few members. I would not be surprised if some Augusta National members found this book a little uncomfortable. If you like golf, you will like this book.

This is a pleasantly written story about Augusta, Augusta National, The South, and of course the caddie's who were part of the Augusta National mystic lore of golf's treasured Masters Tournament. What a shame, we have Caddie Master now.

Fantastic look inside Augusta National. I'll never see Augusta National the same during The Masters. I love the history and first-hand account. Tripp Bowden knows how to live, and appreciates his life.
