5.0 out of 5 stars The most entertaining book (The one you must own!)
To begin, there is really a lot of books about such a huge figure as incompareable Freddie Mercury but this one is different.

Let's see... You will find inside neither Freddie's biography nor some serious analysis stuff of any kind. However, you won't need this as long as the quotes (provocative and ridiculous at the same time) keep you laughing...

3.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE FREDDIE!
I LOVE Freddie Mercury and could not wait to get this book! Unfortunately this book is very hard to read! It is just a book of quotes from Freddie done in multiple interviews organized by topic. Some were from when Freddie was young, and some from when he was old so sometimes he contradicts himself. Its kind of hard to follow in that sense.

Well, I heard the people saying that this book is just a bunch of "phrases said nobody knows where and when". Let's just drop the critics, ok? This is a perfect entertaining book, which you will definitely want to read all over again.
The photos can hardly be called rare, although, they're just a pleasant addition.

The original UK Hardcover edition (which I am also happy to own) had in my opinion more attractive white cover but is long out of print (and the price is far too high even if you find one) so, I beleive buying this paperback edition would be a very good spending of your 22 bucks.

5.0 out of 5 stars As close as you can get...., February 14, 2010
This review is from: Freddie Mercury: His Life in His Own Words (Paperback)
I have the original hardcover from 2006. Have re-read it more than once. For those of us infatuated with Freddie, this is a must have.

The only thing that could shed new light on him at this point would be a book by Mary Austin. As much as I would like to hear her tell the story of their life together, I also respect her wish to keep the memories to herself, if that is her choice.

From my perspective, theirs is the ultimate rock & roll love story. He kept her close and took care of her above all others, in spite of his lifestyle.

4.0 out of 5 stars A "Freddy" fan must!!!, September 25, 2010

This book is beautifully written........... it gives a small insight to the great musician and showman Freddy Mercury.
It had me smiling, laughing out loud, and I even had tears running down my face.
I could imagine him saying the things that were recorded - and all with his wonderful ascerbic wit and humour.
Freddy Mercury was a brilliant theatrical man...... but this book goes deeper in to what he was picturing.
A small "peep" into a great performer - taken too soon.... which has left a deep void and many unanswered questions.
Imagine him now!?!?!?! I have no doubt that he would still be performng and thoroughly entertaining his audience.
RIP Freddy Mercury xxx

5.0 out of 5 stars Freddie Mercury: His Life in His Own Words, September 1, 2009
This review is from: Freddie Mercury: His Life in His Own Words (Paperback)
This was a great book..As close to an autobiography as could be. As I read the book it seemed as though some of the statement were directly from Freddie...well maybe a lot of the statements...very enjoyable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not really written by Freddie, September 4, 2011

This review is from: Freddie Mercury: His Life in His Own Words (Paperback)
This is an enjoyable read, but it was not written by Freddie Mercury, per se. It is a collection of interview quotes, which are interesting, but it says very little about Freddie as a private man; I expected a biography, and this is not.

If you can accept what it contains, the product did arrive in perfect condition, no dog eared pages, no folds.

Great review for seller, poor review for content.
