5.0 out of 5 stars Put yourself on ELM STREET!
There is no words for this CD of grotesque, macabre, and sinister rememberances of Elm Street. I have searched and searched for quality Nightmare on Elm Street music and my search has come to an end with this great collection of "Freddys Favorites". 3.0 out of 5 stars Good but incomplete.
(Since they no longer have it to review, I'm reviewing the compilation disc for parts 1 & 2.)

There is something to be said about the score to NoES. I first saw the film when it came out, and I was only seven. I can't say I noticed much of the music back then. But now I've become a collector and comlpeteist. Which means I'm disappointed in this. Not...

5.0 out of 5 stars Belongs in every horror movie music lovers collection., November 29, 2008

I've always loved horror movies. I have also always had a fondness for the various great music that has always seemed to be a character in and of it's own in the really great horror movies. This Nightmare on ELm St. Collection brings together selections from the first 6 films in the series.
Each track brings to mind the various memorable scenes from the films.
I have recently begun collecting horror movie scores, especially the scores released by the varese sarabande label. This is a well put together collection & sounds fantastic. Highly recommended.

This review is from: Freddy's Favorites: Best Of A Nightmare On Elm Street (Audio CD)

Not completely. But there is enough left out to make me fret. Ok, ok, one second of difference, or exclusion and I'm bummed.

There are severeal key points in the film that aren't even in the film score you get when you buy the score in any form. There are even missing instrumentations.

Not to mention the disc is out of order. But most annoying of all is the gluing of music tracks together. "Rod Hanged/Night Stalking" are flip-flopped with one another. "School Horror/Stay Awake" don't flow in the movie as one, and I'm still not sure where "Stay Awake" takes place.

I hate to be one of the only '3's in this reviews but I'm really sad that yet another film score falls short of being perfect.

Oh, and the song at the end isn't included on disc. Me being me, I've since split both dual tracks into their singular selves and put them in order where they go. I'll listen to the soundtrack I "made" here, but I'll always remember the hours of deciphering, with my poor & distracted ears, the order in which the producers put this film score...and of course dream of how much that'll always be missing from mine & everyone else's copy of NoES. <<<'til someone makes a bootleg>>>

5.0 out of 5 stars Best!, May 5, 2001

This is a very impressive CD. Very entertaining the best thing i like about it is that i like to put the cd player on random and it just skips around and i love that cause then i can see how one film's score differs from the other. Amazing!

If you've seen all the 'Elm Street' films MORE than 50 times, like me, you'll definitley like this. If you've seen it once - very little chance. Die-hard fans only..

...don't need to explain, you will love this one! But only if you like the series (like me), if you are looking for horror movies soundtracks but nothing in particular, there are many out there better than this one (Omen, Pet Sematary, The Shining...).

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome scores, September 19, 2005
This review is from: Freddy's Favorites: Best Of A Nightmare On Elm Street (Audio CD)
I think Nightmare On Elm Street has the best score of any horror flick. This cd takes the best scores from 6 of the Nightmare films and puts them all into one. My personal favorite tracks have to be the NOES 5 scores. A dark score for a dark movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Are you ready for Freddy?...ok now?..how bout now?, April 19, 2007
This review is from: Freddy's Favorites: Best Of A Nightmare On Elm Street (Audio CD)
I'm guessing everyone who is planning on buying this puppy is a huge Nightmare fan, and this cd doesnt disapoint.
The original has the best score, its so classic and creepy. I love it! The opening title of part 2 is pretty creepy too, although I can't remember any of the other tracks off the top of my head.
Part 3 is ok, has some cheesy stuff tumbled in there, but listenable and I refuse to say anything bad about any aspect of Dream Warriors- ever. Ahhh A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: I can recite this movie in my sleep, so listening the amazing Freddy's Back score or re-living the on-screen events of Debbie checks in/Time circles is always a pleasure.
The Dream Child has some spooky gothic stuff, and for the life of me I can't recall much of Freddy's Dead music either...that must be a bad sign.
All in all this thing is great. Now when are they gonna put out a cd of the Friday the 13th scores? The disco edition of part 3 is like the best thing EVER!!!
