Dietlof Rieche's FREDDY'S FINAL QUEST adds to the other four books in the 'Golden Hamster Saga'; this telling of author Freddy's journey through time with a tomcat, guinea pig poets and a robot hamster on a rescue mission. From wild Golden Hamsters who capture the guinea pig poets and plan to eat them to a dangerous quest, high adventure marks this cartoon-drawing embellished fantasy.

THE BEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Freddy's Final Quest: Book Five In The Golden Hamster Saga (Hardcover)
Man, I thought you couldn't beat book two: Freddy in Peril, but this one sure did! It was very adventurous, it had parts where if someone were to give you 1,000,000$ to put the book down, you wouldn't do it, and it is a very combined story. The ending was sad, though. Again, if you don't like this book, you didn't read it!

Sorry to see Freddy go,
By Pamela Pirtle "Teacher - lover of books" (Spring Creek, NV United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Freddy's Final Quest: Book Five In The Golden Hamster Saga (Hardcover)
Freddy is an unusual golden hamster who just happens to be able to use a computer to write his adventures in novel form. He lives with two guinea pigs named Enrico and Caruso (those old enough will recognize where the names came from if they remember old musicals and opera music) who love to sing and dance, a tom cat named Sir William, and his owner Mr. John. This his final quest finds Freddy and the other animals along with a robot hamster in search of a cure for a sick child by traveling back in time to get DNA. There they meet a wild lady golden hamster (the love of Freddy's life), knights trying to capture a city during the crusades (one of which has the needed DNA), and a middle eastern doctor and his daughter. I have a tough time putting these books down. The conversations are great to read aloud to students. I have been able to turn several students on to this series. Good 3rd grade readers and above will be able to read them. As low as 2nd grade would love to listen to them read aloud. Sorry to see the series end. But Freddy once again saves the day.

Great book series, though my son (the reader) was not as excited with this one - the fifth book. Overall, it was OK.

My son was not interested in the Freddy books at first glance. As the saying goes, 'don't judge the book by its cover'. Once he read his first Freddy book, he had to have all four. We're waiting for more.

My nine year old niece loves this series of books about Freddy. Book five involves time travel and she said it was awesome.
