5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I have very dry, colored, frizzy, thick, wavy, fat hair! I have to blow dry it, iron it and coat it with silk threropy and it still frizzes at the slightest hint of humidity. It also gets dryer as the days pass between washings until I can give it more conditioner. This product has made my hair feel better than any I have used and I've been through a bunch! I've only used...

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars not that great
pros: great smell, made my hair soft for a day, need vvv litt amount
cons: vvvvvvvvvvv expensive, next day my hair was greasy

Overall, it not that great for the price. I think it does not do any wonders if you already have decent manageable hair.

It also gets dryer as the days pass between washings until I can give it more conditioner. This product has made my hair feel better than any I have used and I've been through a bunch! I've only used it once and washed one time after using it with Frederic shampoo and conditioner and still feel the solfness. I haven't put it to the ultimate test, but I have walked in to the bathroom when my husband was showering and my hair didn't frizz like normal! Wish there was more of it for the price because my hair drank it in, but I think it will be a great product for mending, also.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong smell, but worth the price!, March 17, 2007
I have always been a fan of the Fekkai line, so I was really excited to give this product a try.

The first thing I noticed was the smell. At first I didn't mind it, I even thought it smelt like vanilla marshmallows, but after having it sit on my head for 20 minutes, I thought the smell was too strong. Anyway, I left the product on for about half an hour, then washed it out well with cool water.

When my hair was dry, it was really soft and nicely conditioned, which was a surprise to me. Many mask/treatments aren't conditioners; rather they work as a replenisher, which is why you sometimes still have to use a conditioner when you're done. But the Protein Treatment Mask didn't need any extra conditioner. I use this treatment every other week, along with Fekkai's Shea Butter Hair Mask, and my hair is great. I straighten my hair almost everyday and I'm in the process of growing it out also, so this treatment has helped a lot to prevent breakage.

Though expensive, I do recommend it because you don't need to use a lot of product. I tend to focus the treatment on areas I think need the most help, like the bottom half of my hair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful results!, December 1, 2007
Used Frederic Fekkai Protien RX Repairative Treatment Mask 5.5 - left it on about 10-15 minutes, also applied heat with blow dryer. My hair has never been left in such healthy and shiny condition! I color and hi-lite my hair on a regular basis, and after using the mask, my hair felt literally "like new hair"! Would DEFINITELY purchase again!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Conditioner, February 15, 2008
I first tried this product from Sephora. I've tried Fekkai products before but this one is truly special. It honestly leaves your hair soft and well conditioned. Only a small amount goes right thru your hair. Its not like other conditioners that you really have to work thru. This stuff is really great. I actually use it everyday to protect my hair from blow drying and my hair is never greasy just nice, conditioned, healthy and shiny.

5.0 out of 5 stars A UNIQUE HAIR STRENGTHENER, February 20, 2005

Many of us have received a shock when we brushed our hair or combed it into place. Yech! Some of those hairs are actually breaking off. This happens to the best of us after too much coloring (yes, highlights are color), too many heated curls or perhaps worry or an illness.

One of the best hair strengtheners we've found is Frederic Fekkai's Protein Rx. It's enriched with soy and milk proteins to reinforce hair. To use simply apply to clean, towel dried hair. Massage it gently throughout hair, paying special attention to roots. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool (that reads cool, not hot) water. We'd recommend once a week usage unless your hair and you are totally distressed.

As a preventative, we'd suggest using it once a month.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, October 22, 2010
This stuff is fantastic. I have colored my hair with sun-in since I was 16 (I'm 23) and my hair is pretty dry and damaged. I was hesitant because of the price, but got it anyways because the reviews were so good. Those reviews did not lie, this product is amazing. I have only used it once but after leaving it on for 15-20 minutes I was easily able to run my fingers through my hair while rinsing it out (which is RARELY the case with any other conditioner or product) and afterwards my hair was shiny and frizz/flyaway free. I have been reluctant to use it again because I went through probably 1/3 of the jar or maybe even half while coating my hair. I will use it prior to special events or maybe just apply it on the most damaged areas. I will highly recommend this product and wish that it was available in gallon sizes because I wouldn't mind paying 40 or 50 for a large tub of this stuff. Also, I did not find the smell unpleasant at all;I think it smells really good.

5.0 out of 5 stars All-time Favorite., November 3, 2011

This review is from: Frederic Fekkai Protein Rx Reparative Treatment Mask, With Soy and Milk Proteins 5.5 oz (150 g) (Misc.)
My hair is in such ridiculously bad shape, I have thick, yet fine, wavy hair. It's been breaking off and it's super dry, you know how hair is supposed to flow and be all nice? Mine does not to that. I would have to compare it to a broomstick most of the time. I've been dying it since I was 15 and have had it the darkest brown to a medium blonde (platinum blonde just wouldn't look right on me with my complexion and as my natural color is a medium brown). Needless to say my hair has been fried a number of times in those processes (I've gone back and forth quite a few times) and earlier this year I decided to try this product.

I used it once a week for I think around 4 months (this came out to 2 jars with my shoulder length hair) and left it in on a day I had off so I could have it in most the day with a shower cap on. At the time I felt that it didn't completely stop hair breakage, it did lessen it a great deal though. (having said that I've recently found that the ApHogee Two Step Protein Treatment completely stops my hair from breaking) Overall over time the Frederic Fekkai Protein Rx Reparative Treatment Mask greatly improved my hair as well though and left it very soft and manageable.

Now, after the 4 months of having used it and making my hair quality a lot better I felt like maybe there was another product out there that was better and cheaper (don't we always feel that way?), so therefor I didn't repurchase and instead bought 5+ other conditioners that also had great reviews etc but were a lot cheaper. I tried the Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque, which is still slightly pricey but it has 8.5oz vs the 5.5oz this one has, I also tried L'Oreal Natures Therapy Mega Moisture Nurturing Creme, Brazilian Tech Deep Penetrating Conditioning Treatment, Silk Elements Mega Conditioning Treatment and a couple cheap drugstore ones I can't recall the names of. For comparison sake of more expensive products as well the 2 I had tried before this one was the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask and Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment as well as a few others I can't remember anymore.

In this time period of trying out the cheaper products I had a hair color mishap and had to have my hair dyed 4 times in the span of a couple weeks, the repairs that the Fekkai mask had done before had basically been voided and my hair was once again ridiculously terrible. None of the cheaper products even combined worked anything near what this one does. I wound up repurchasing it recently and was reminded of why I liked it so much in the past and that I should've never strayed from it. Now, I'm not claiming that it makes my hair super perfect and like virgin hair again, because frankly after everything I've done to it the only way that's going to happen is if I stop dying my hair period and leave it alone. But this product definitely makes it way closer to that than any other product I've ever tried. And I know that over time it greatly improves my hair quality. Obviously everyone's hair is different so what works for me might not work for you but I find this conditioner to be close to perfect.

The only cons I can think of are price, and maybe the smell. The smell doesn't bother me personally but for people that don't care for strong smells this might be a bit much. I've learned my lesson anyways and will be buying this from now on, if your hair is anything like mine I suggest you try it too!

very pleased with the product. A little bit goes a long ways. Does work well on my hair. My hair is extremely dry and it moisturizes it well. I use it about once a week or so.

5.0 out of 5 stars no need to go sit in a salon anymore, January 21, 2012
This review is from: Frederic Fekkai Protein Rx Reparative Treatment Mask, With Soy and Milk Proteins 5.5 oz (150 g) (Misc.)
I have straight, colored hair and always sit in an office; so I feel like the hair is always dry. However, regular usage of this product once every two weeks make my hair shiny and manageable. Stop wasting money and time on oil/protein/Keratin treatments at the salon and give this a shot. It does have a very strong fragrance, but I believe the results are worth it. Not to be used as a conditioner as this can be too heavy on those with thin hair.
