This review is from: Frederick Douglass on Slavery and the Civil War: Selections from His Writings (Dover Thrift Editions) (Paperback)
Very easy to read and great insights into the condition and crimes of slavery, the American Civil War, and Reconstruction. For those uninitiated to Frederick Douglass the introduction by Foner is helpful, but the prose of Douglass really speaks to the reader. Totally worthwhile.
