5.0 out of 5 stars This SO rules!, January 22, 2004

Oh baby! Get out to the nearest record store and buy this monster NOW! It is really a change in direction from the "Horror Stories" era garage type stuff but, it rules just as much! Teenage girls and free cocaine? How can 'ya go wrong? This is the kind of rock'n'roll that makes you want to smash a bottle of whiskey over your head and punch a perfect stranger in the face! Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh! Pure thug-punk moronics and super-bad rock'n'roll. The Dwarves rule!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly Bad., March 14, 2008
This review is from: Free Cocaine (Audio CD)
I just pulled the vinyl version of this double LP from storage and it made me fall in love with The Dwarves all over again. This is the soundtrack if you want to do bad, bad things.

"Gimme the things that drive me insane
Teenage women and free cocaine
I want some free cocaine
From my man who went to high school
Abel said to Cain
Momma was a groupie out on Donovan's brain for
Free cocaine, free cocaine
Pussy, carbohydrates, sometimes acid rain
I just want a sniff of your free cocaine
You know the best things in life are free
And if they're free why don't you give it to me
Free cocaine, free cocaine
I want the 31 flavors, 69 years
I'll take 13 vials worth, I don't care."

This album is some of the most raw, unpolished, and aggressive punk rock you will ever likely hear! I am a huge Dwarves fan, I have all of their albums and love them all! This album is so infectious and fun to listen to, that I find myself coming back to it constantly! This is pretty much nothing like the last couple Dwarves albums, which were pretty experimental and varied sound-wise, this album is full of raunchy, and light-speed fast songs, with a few garage punk songs mixed in for good measure as well! The songs, even though they are played so incredibly sloppy and distorted have a lot of melody and catchiness buried under there! The sound quality is pretty damn bad, but if you are an old school punk rock fan, that might be a positive thing like it is to me! Highly recommended to all Dwarves fans and anybody who loves punk rock and hardcore punk! As, to me, this is some of the best hardcore punk I have ever heard! And the lyrics are hilarious and highly entertaining! Just a fun ride from start to finish! Can't wait for the new Dwarves album Dwarves Are Born Again coming out next month, so look out for that as well, as I am sure it will be brilliant like just about everything they have released over their 25+ year career!
