Margaret Hubert is one talented designer, and one who excels in freeform crochet design. (It's not as easy as it would seem to truly carry off a work of crocheted art that comes together beautifully.) This is an excellent book for the price, with beautiful designs. Just the patterns for the motifs alone is well worth it! This book is one of my favorites.

I picked up a copy of this book at a craft store and looked on Amazon to see what else is available from the same author. Her techniques are marvelous and you can certainly create wonderful things. I was shocked, however, to see Amazon's price for the book. Full price for it at the craft shop was $7.99 so I don't know why the price here is this high. I wouldn't have purchased this book for the price currently posted (approx. $25 as of the time this review is written).

I would say you need to be at least a confident beginner to use this book. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to be someone's first crochet pattern book but by the time you have 3-5 projects under your belt and you're familiar with the following crochet stitches: chain, single, double, half double and treble, you should do just fine.

This book was very disappointing. The projects are beautiful but somewhat difficult and the author is very talented. But the price for this book was outrageous.If I known what little information this booklet contained for the price, I would not have purchased it.
