1.0 out of 5 stars Don't pay for this, go to your local library January 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a scam. Public libraries would never charge for this information. Many public libraries have tutorials on how to download free e-books and audiobooks on their website, as well as directions on how to get a library card. Some libraries have classes and tutoring on e-readers as well. Any librarian would love to teach you how to download books using your Kindle or the Overdrive digital management software. All of this is for free.

Here is a guide to getting started with e-books from public libraries from Overdrive: [...]

1.0 out of 5 stars You Charged for This???? April 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I can't believe I was charged for this. It is about as long as my review.

I wanted to find out how to get a non-resident U.S. library card so I can use it to borrow books on Kindle (the Canadian libraries are predictably ten years behind the times). I expected this "book" to at least contain a list of libraries that would allow non-residents to obtain library cards. Nope. Not here.

The only useful suggestion was to get a friend or relative living in the States to add you to their library card. I've never heard of libraries allowing this, but I'll check it out. If I can't find one, I'll ask for my buck back.

3.0 out of 5 stars Need to have a renew option February 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really like the idea of the public library eBooks option, however, I really wish there was a renew option. I usually check out more than one book at a time and I usually have to renew one of them. It's frustrating when you're almost finished with a book and then it's gone and you have to hunt it down at the local library or you have to wait in line in the online system.

Seamless process that always works, and gives me the option of purchasing the book if I didn't finish on time, or just like it to keep handy.
