Very Difficult to assemble,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: FreeMotion Freestrider s5.8 with 35-Inch Variable Stride (Misc.)
The product is nice enough, but here are a few major issues to consider before purchasing. When delivered the freight company would not come inside the house with the product. That's 233 lbs on the pallet that had to be negotiated down a flight of stairs. Better have movers available when it arrives because my wife and I couldn't handle that kind of weight. Even removing a piece of the product a piece at a time from the box isn't an option because the base is still very heavy.
Assembly was very difficult. Directions describe pulling two wires through the upright with the string that is provided; however the model we ordered also has a TV. So there were four wires/cables that needed to be pulled through the upright. With the handlebars running through the upright (welded and unmovable) there is barely enough room to get the wires/cables with their plugs through the upright. We finally succeeded after two hours. The rest of the assembly was fairly straightforward. But here's another major problem. After spending two hours getting the wires/cables through the upright and using the string provided to pull the wiring, the wires/cables must have gotten pinched because the TV, Audio and Fan don't work. The rest of the display console - i.e. graphics work fine. Bottom line, I think I would be satisfied with this product had it been assembled and delivered in working order to where it is being used. So I would have to recommend you go with another seller - and maybe another product too - hard to tell since we haven't been able to see how many of the features actually work. This product has been reduced to basically a no frills model, despite being fairly costly due to the TV and other features. |
