Best Meter out there !,
By J T. (Chicago,Il) - See all my reviews
This review is from: FreeStyle Freedom Lite Blood Glucose Monitoring System (Health and Beauty)
This meter is the best ! Its made by Abbott. It uses the smallest amount of blood on the market(.3ul. Either side of strip. It has EXTRA LARGE(20mm vs 10mm) digital numbers. 7,14,30 averages. 400 # memory. Alt sites other than finger. It can be interfaced with ABBOTTS Co-pilot software to get the BIG picture of your blood sugars. You can download all the data from meter on to your pc. Email results to DOCTOR. Print graphs and results for DOCTOR. If five stars is the top, this meter and company(ABBOTT) is 10 STARS . Software is a free download from site. You will need to purchase the cable. Its worth every penny. Someone took the time to figure this out. I have owned four different meters and this is the one ! Thanks for reading !

Easy and Accurate,
This review is from: FreeStyle Freedom Lite Blood Glucose Monitoring System (Health and Beauty)
This meter was recommended by my Pharmacist based on his experience with his diabetic parents. He was absolutely right. Not only is it easy to use, I've found that it is very accurate. I tested it when I had my last blood tests done at the lab using the same blood sample that they drew. The result given by my FreeStyle Freedom Lite kit was EXACTLY the same as the result reported by the lab. Home blood glucose kits are considered accurate if they are within +-15%. This one does much better than that!

From a New Diabetic,
This review is from: FreeStyle Freedom Lite Blood Glucose Monitoring System (Health and Beauty)
I just found out I have diabetes and have no previous experience with the disease or the meters used to measure blood sugar. I was given this meter by my endocrinologist. I was nervous and anxious about using it by myself, but I have become a real pro in just a day. This meter is extremely easy to use. I never thought I would be able to prick my own finger but the lancing device makes it simple. I have mine set to 2 and I have no problems getting enough blood for testing. I love how putting the strip in turns on the meter and pulling it out turns it off.....that simple....and it is pretty quick to display the results, which are easy to read. The nurse did set the date and time for me in the hospital so I didnt have to do that, but she didnt have any problem and she told me she hadnt done it on that meter before. I have no complaints at all. If I do, I will revise my review, but I dont see that happening.

Mom always said that if you can't say anything good...,
This review is from: FreeStyle Freedom Lite Blood Glucose Monitoring System (Health and Beauty)
It's all in the title, but my main peeve is that you cannot clear the memory, you're stuck with the 400 readings and with their averagings regardless whether they are correct or not. Although it is advertised as using the smallest sample I've had to use the provided lancing device two and three times, set at the deepest level, in order to get a reading...not fun.
