I'd review the camera and picture itself, (and will return to do so if I get it working) but little did Panasonic tell you that you have to have very few contacts in your skype account - or it won't even let you login to set the camera up. I'm using with a Panasonic DVD Blue Ray player DMP-BDT210 that I bought specifically for the Skype feature. After trying Logitech webcams and others, discovered you have to use the over-priced (for resolution/specs) webcam by them. The unit/set-up said I had too many contacts to use on the system in my Skype account - so I eliminated all but 29 of them - and still could not use my normal Skype account. Panasonic wants me to create a new account - which defeats the purpose of having video conferencing in the living room. I'm not about to over-pay for a camera, and then have to manage two skype accounts - save yourself the headache - don't even buy till they fix the software bug - unless maybe you are new to skype and buying this + only plan on having 5 contacts in your account or so. The DVD Player rocks, but don't by for the Skype feature - instead I should have bought the Sony DVD with iphone app for remote. I feel cheated and what a waste of time Panasonic caused me.Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Integrated-Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player

I bought the free talk camera and mike for skyping from my living room. The mike forces me to sit no more than 4 ft away. Otherwise the sound keeps dropping out frustrating the person on the other end. Poor product. Cannot recommend.

After a month of use this is now collecting dust. The designers made this camera sleek and attractive. However, it does not hold a candle to other, lower cost cameras. Viewers regularly commented on the low quality picture they were receiving. I switched to using a Logitech Quickcam Orbital webcam. The Logitech camera quality is excellent.

Freetalk does not work with Panasonic. Waited until December 30th, when Skype's website said they would fix the problems, camera arrived and no video. Freetalk does not offer support and don't offer any instructions or options to trouble shoot.

I purchased this camera to skype with my Panasonic Blu Ray player (model BDT110), however the camera does not work with the blu ray player. DO NOT purchase this webcam to work with the Panasonic blu ray player as 1) the video does not work 2) Panasonic does not provide support for the webcam function 3) Freetalk manufacturer does not know how to diagnose the problem with the Panasonic compatibility. Waste of time and money. Very Very Poor!

I bought the Panasonic Freetalk camera for my son, who wanted to get more performance out of his Skype setup. The Freetalk camera works very well. He has it sitting atop his widescreen TV so he can use that TV to see the person(s) calling. The Freetalk covers his entire living room with reasonable focus and detail, making it easy to talk with people sitting a dozen feet away in the corners of the room.

Purchased two Panasonic DMP-BDT-210 Blu-Rays DVD players (for two of our our TVs) for Netflix and better Skype performance. Found out I had to then purchase special web camera for DVD to work with Skype. Purchased recommended FreeTalk camera. I was able to get audio but no video using Skype with Panasonic DVD and Freetalk camera. I did update firmware for DVD player... but no luck. I have spent over 6 hours searching the web for answers and trying to get technical support from Panasonic. (don't use Panasonic's JustAnswer service) and trying to get the required camera to work with the Panasonic DVD player. I read poor reviews but thought I might be able to find a solution as I am somewhat technical. Don't waste your time and money. After all the poor reviews Amazon should not be offering this product.

I bought this player mainly for Skype. First, the only officially recommended camera, made by Panasonic, has been discontinued and can't be found anywhere online. Then, Panasonic's own customer support agent pointed me to the Freetalk HD Camera for Panasonic TVs (7181). I could not get a picture with this camera, only sound. Very disappointing experience. Also, the DLNA capability on this unit is extremely diappointing -- it only plays a couple of formats, but not AVIs or MP4s or MKVs. I ended up returning both the player and the camera. Go with Sony BDP-S780 and its accompanying Sony HD camera (CMU-BR100) instead. They worked well for me, and I didn't have issues with the sound or picture, as some other Sony camera reviewers had.

Was suckered into buying one of these based on the fact the our new TV at the time supported this and it seemed cool. The camera works fine and produces good video and audio but now it is useless because we use Google Hangouts with the TV instead of Skype and it doesn't work for anything but Skype, now this really large camera sits near the TV and never gets used.

I was very hopeful about this camera for home Skype use with the Panasonic BluRay / DVD player that the camera is certified to work with. After receiving it and hooking it up, I found it only transmitted audio and no video. I researched the Panasonic product support pages, which stated the firmware is not compatible with their products anymore and the problem was with FreeTalk. On the Skype product forums there are dozens of complaints about it not working with Certified Skype components like the TVs and BluRay players, and that they are working on a firmware upgrade for 2013. At this time it will not work. Amazon and Skype and Panasonic should change the product descriptions. I'm looking for another solution.
