1.0 out of 5 stars Does Not Work with Panasonic Blu Ray BDT110, December 21, 2011
This review is from: FreeTalk Conference HD Camera for Skype Ready Panasonic TVs and BluRays (TALK-7181) (Personal Computers)
Purchased this camera for use with Panasonic Blu Ray Player BDT110 and only audio is picked up when using with Skype program. Do not purchase this camera if you intend to Skype through the smart tv function on a Panasonic blu ray player.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does Not Work with Panasonic DMP-BDT310, January 12, 2012
This review is from: FreeTalk Conference HD Camera for Skype Ready Panasonic TVs and BluRays (TALK-7181) (Personal Computers)
I purchased the Freetalk TALK-7181 and connected to my Blu Ray player (Panasonic DMP-BDT310) running the latest firmware 1.70.

Like many other people on the Skype support page, I then realized I'd been ripped off. (Although Skype works and one can log in and hear audio, there is no video).
The camera cannot function for what it is sold to do, act as an HD webcam for a Panasonic BDT-310 and compatible Panasonic models including TV's.

On complaining to the manufacturer one then gets the 'pass the buck' scenario of Freetalk saying it's Skype's fault and Skype blaming Freetalk.
This is unacceptable because the product is advertised by Freetalk as 'Skype Certified' when it clearly is not.

Do not buy the TALK-7181 model if you have a Panasonic Blu Ray player with Skype function.
It makes you wonder why there is a TALK-7182 model......doesn't it?

NB: I bought this elsewhere, not Amazon. Just giving feedback for other people so they don't waste their dollars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another vote for "Does not work as advertised", January 6, 2012

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: FreeTalk Conference HD Camera for Skype Ready Panasonic TVs and BluRays (TALK-7181) (Personal Computers)
I just wanted to add another vote against this camera, specifically if you are purchasing it to work with your Blu-Ray player.

I purchased this camera to work with my Panasonic Blu-Ray Player (DMP-BDT110). The player is specifically mentioned in the "Compatibility List" on the camera packaging, so it *should* work. Unfortunately, the camera gets audio but no video, so it's useless as a skype camera.

If the problem gets fixed quickly (via firmware update or something else), then I'll update the rating. Otherwise, I'll be returning the camera and getting a new one.

(Incidentally, if anyone can recommend a video camera that *does* work with the BDT110, I'd be grateful.)
