Book Description

Whether you write fiction or nonfiction, you know what a thrill it is to find some new resource that helps you get those words on the page, organize your writing projects, and make writing more enjoyable and fun.

And if those resources are free? Even better!

In 50 FREEBIES FOR FRUGAL WRITERS, you will find 50 free writing resources, including:

* Free writing software
* Free writing eBooks and reports
* Free MP3s and sound recordings
* Free videos on the craft of writing

You’ve probably stumbled across a few freebies for writers yourself (some more useful than others). But why search high and low for the freebie you want when 50 FREEBIES FOR FRUGAL WRITERS gives you 50 freebies for writers all in one place. In fact, you’ll find freebies in this book you didn’t even know you needed. Freebies that will help you to:

* Learn more about the writing craft, and improve your writing skills.
* Learn more about the writing business, especially if you want to make a living as a writer.
* Organize the research for your writing projects.
* Plot your short stories and novels.
* Outline your nonfiction books and articles.
* Get rid of distractions so you can focus more on writing.
* Create a work environment that will make you more creative and productive.
* Take some of the stress out of being a writer.

Going through 50 freebies to find what you want can be a little overwhelming. So the free resources in this book have been divided into 15 different categories:

1. On Video. Watch successful pro writers talk about the craft of writing…from the comfort of your own home.

2. Podcasts. Add this valuable information about the craft and business of writing to your MP3 player, and listen to it wherever you go.

3. Free Writing Software. Keep track of your characters, scenes, settings, and plots with these valuable programs for writers.

4. Virtual Index Card Programs. Index cards can be a great, visual way to organize your writing projects.

5. Mind Mapping Software. While you can create mind maps by hand, mind mapping software can make the process a little easier…and more fun.

6. Language and Grammar Resources. Trying to find the right word for your latest article or short story? Can’t remember where that comma should go? Then these language and grammar resources might be just what you need.

7. Free Word Processors. Sometimes, something as simple as using a different word processor can help spark your creativity.

8. Distraction-Free Writing Programs. A busy computer screen can be distracting. But these programs help you get rid of the distractions so you can focus on writing.

9. Your Home Office. Create a writing environment that will help keep your muse humming along.

10. Productivity. These resources will help you manage your time better, write faster, and get more writing done.

11. Information Management Programs. Use these programs to organize your research and save all of your ideas.

12. Personal Wikis. Wikis are another great way to organize information, especially if you like to “go with the flow” and organize on the fly.

13. Virtual Journals. Keeping a journal will encourage you to write on a regular basis…and the more you write, the better a writer you will be.

14. Need Some Inspiration? When you feel like you’ve run out of ideas, or are having doubts about your writing abilities, these resources will help to motivate and inspire you.

15. Your Digital Book Collection. Are eBooks taking over your computer? These programs will help you get them under control.

In 50 FREEBIES FOR FRUGAL WRITERS, you will find 50 free writing programs, videos, writing books and more, all designed to help make your life as a writer a little easier.

While I already have or have checked out many of the resources in the ebook, many other people may not have, so this is definitely a good place for one in search of these types of tools to start.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad December 29, 2013

I wasn't able to use all of the items listed because I already had other things that did the same, but these are good suggestions and for someone on a tight budget and starting off they are excellent items. They include organizers, note saving and thesaurus. I like the free Elements of Style book in PDF format. Good suggestions for uses.

Incidentally, I download to Kindle on PC so that I could click on the links and have them save to my computer. I have an older kindle and would be too much trouble to type the links.
