Excellent book for breaking strongholds of fear and anxiety,
This review is from: Freedom from Fear: Overcoming Worry and Anxiety (Paperback)
I read this book and will continue to use it as a reference book as I grow in my christianity. This book is clear, concise, very easy to follow and is steeped in scripture and helpful prayers. This book covers all areas of fear and anxiety, including Fear of Death, Fear of Failure, Fear of Man, Panic Disorder, Anxious Thinking and worrying among others. This book points the believer toward Christ through prayer, building up of ones faith, and biblical scripture in an effort to break the stongholds of fear and/or anxiety over his/her life by building a stronghold of faith in Christ.I highly recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with strongholds of anxiety and/or fear.

Not as good as previous books by Anderson.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Freedom from Fear: Overcoming Worry and Anxiety (Paperback)
I love Neil Anderson's books, but this one was missing something. Not sure what. It just didn't have the motivating characteristics that his books normally have. Overall, a decent book to read. Usually, I can't put them down, but I found myself reading a few pages here, a chapter there. No big hurry to finish. It doesn't really address panic attacks even though there is one failing attempt to cover the subject by adding a chapter on it. Nothing new and the same scriptures are used over and over again throughout the book. Take a chance. You might like it.

This book disappointed me,

This review is from: Freedom from Fear: Overcoming Worry and Anxiety (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed The Bondage Breaker, is a book chock full of godly and spiritual. I would recommend that book for panic attacks and anxiety moreso than Freedom From Fear. This book totally misses the mark. Neil and the other guy's attitude towards people with panic disorder is condescending and dismissive, to say the least. He even seems like he's blaming people with this disorder for bringing it on themselves with sin. That's so far off the mark I couldn't believe he would say something like that. I was very dissapointed, especially after reading The Bondage Breaker, which was wonderful. And in case you're wondering, I'm a born again Christian. I have panic disorder and I want to get out of this God's way, not the world's way, which is why I was so disappointed when I read this. I bought a secular book by Dr. Carbonell called "The Panic Attack Workbook" instead.

Knowing his heart for healing in the body,
By A Customer
This review is from: Freedom from Fear: Overcoming Worry & Anxiety (Audio Cassette)
My husband and I were blessed immeasurably by Victory Over the Darkness, The Bondage Breaker, the youth versions of each, the Steps of Freedom in Christ, and training videos by Freedom in Christ Ministry to help us lead others to WALKING in their freedom in CHRIST. Neil, his wife and a number of his staff were in my home following a conference sharing how God has blessed them by helping believers realize what they have in Christ. They spent countless amounts of time guiding our church to establish an in/out reach to hurting believers. His books tend to overlap in theme, and repeat Scripture, intentionally. Most flailing believers aren't unaware of Scripture, most haven't processed and accepted the fullness of what Christ has done for them. Neil's heart isn't to sell books, but to continually share with God's people what Christ has completed for them, so they can simply accept and live in His freedom. Neil took the challenge to address the difficult issues when a good portion of conservative christendom calously folded their arms and hurled cliches.

Neil Anderson is filled with the Holy Spirit and it shows in the knowledge of his books/ministry. This book is no exception. I especially like the bedtime prayer model and wrote it on a large index card. I pray the prayer when I go to bed. It helps me keep my thoughts focused where and on whom they should be. I hope he continues to write on warfare and I wish he would write a book exclusively on sinful eating habits and how to "eat in the Spirit" without going 'under the law!.

Freedom From Fear,

This review is from: Freedom from Fear: Overcoming Worry and Anxiety (Paperback)
I absolutely love this book. I had been experiencing a tremendous amount of anxiety and fears. This book was a heaven send to me. I would recommend this book to anyone who struggles with fear, worry and anxiety. I know I personally had been struggling with a lot of fear and for no reason. I couldn't understand what was happening to me. This book showed me that I was fighting with the enemy, and the enemy was stealing my joy. I have so many things underlined in this book that I like to refresh my memory on. There are a lot of scripture references that the book refers to that shed light on a lot of the issues I've been dealing with. This book is a must read.

Another awesome book by Neil Anderson,
This review is from: Freedom from Fear: Overcoming Worry and Anxiety (Paperback)
This is yet another awesome book by Neil Anderson. It's easy for most people to say "Get over your fear," but he makes a lot of great points in how to do so. I can be reading his book, and come across something I hadn't heard about or thought of before. He sure gives me a lot to think about. I've recommended this book, as well as others of his, to friends, and will continue to do so.

Biblical Scriptural Advice for Eliminating Fear and Anxiety,
By
This review is from: Freedom from Fear: Overcoming Worry and Anxiety (Paperback)
This is an excellent book on how to overcome fear and anxiety by changing one's perspective using Biblical scripture and faith. It is written for Christians.
Unchecked fear can easily lead to phobias, panic attacks, neuroses, physical disease, depression, and other maladies. At the heart of every neurosis is an irrational fear. Secular psychologists use a number of strategies to treat fear and anxiety disorders which include exposure therapy, cognitive therapy, and medication(s). While these treatment modalities may be effective in the short term, the long term cure for out of control fear and anxiety is to change one's perspective, for it is the mind which interprets potential threats and then determines how one should respond. The authors posit that the mind is the most important element in treating anxiety states. Rather than feel like a helpless victim, the authors teach in a stepwise fashion how to train the mind to "think" as our Heavenly Father thinks. In other words, those wishing to overcome fear do it with developing faith, for faith trumps fear. Of course, to utilize the author's excellent advice, the reader must have (or develop) a foundational faith in the Word of God and the faithfulness of God. Once this is in place, one stands on the scriptural promises that God is in control, and He will guide you through the storms of life like a shepherd guides his sheep. This takes the burden of worry (anxiety) off the sheep and places responsibility on the shepherd. And if your shepherd is the Lord himself, what have we to fear? If God is for us, who (what) can be against us? If one rejects the premise of the existance or faithfulness of God as a loving, caring Heavenly Father, then this book's premise will fall flat. The book is written for those who believe in God and are willing to trust Him with their futures. kone

This book was a true lifechanger for me. I have been plaqued with fear, worry and anxiety all my life. Went to various therapists and other professionals with no luck. You see I kept trying to figure out WHY I was this way. This book showed me a different tact, that of fearing only God and following Christ. It 's biblical references had me going to the bible constantly. It was a very peaceful feeling to sit down with this book and I highly recommend it to anyone even if you're not struggling with fear, worry and anxiety.
