Book Description

March 1, 1999
Freedom from the Inside Out: A Guide for the Wounded Self is a moving true story of a young woman who, after riding a tidal wave of trauma throughout her early life, finds a spiritual safe harbor within. The author was abandoned by her parents at birth and afterward endured abuse at the hands of her adoptive family. Then, without support, she fought a solitary battle with cancer as a teenager. Nathalie grapples with the "why" of our suffering, touching upon such concepts as reincarnation, soul advancement through wisdom, and healing by unconditional love. She demonstrates how even our deepest wounds can be overcome. This unpretentious drama unfolds bit by bit, revealing the emotion of her suffering and rebirth. It will be difficult, especially for those who have known abuse or tragedy, to remain unaffected by such a heartfelt tale of universal truth. The author offers a gift of hope with a universal message of interest to others from all walks of life.

Crafted in a simple, lyrical style, Freedom from the Inside Out is about the journey to transformation and wholeness. The story uses snapshots of the author's life, ways in which balance and a proper perspective lead to new beginnings. Through examples and encouragement, readers are empowered to embrace personal challenges with courage and grace.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"In my opinion, the most important contribution of Freedom ...is the authors view of our need to unconditionally love and forgive one another. These two concepts are found woven within and throughout each chapter of the book. Through her experiences, the author explains how holding on to anger, resentments, and unforgiveness in our hearts can hinder our growth, hurt ourselves, and cause pain to others. She further explains how we can benefit from loving ourselves and others, and how we can let go of pain and suffering that result from childhood abuse. She maintains that by nurturing love within our own hearts and in others we can affect our own and others lives in positive ways. -- Donita R. Lukich

Freedom from the Inside Out: A Guide for the Wounded Self emerges at a time when our culture is ready for the next evolutionary step in books about adoption, trauma and healing. This text offers a pathway into the deepest level of being, completing the healing journey in the realm of the soul. Nathalie Goldrain shares a profound personal journey, offering encouragement to those brave enough to follow their own path to our source. -- Michelle McColm, Author of Adoption Reunions Second Story Press, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 1993

Freedom from the Inside Out: A Guide for the Wounded Self illustrates both soul healing and psychic empowerment. This book is a valuable addition to anyone interested in spiritual growth. -- Dr. Bruce Goldberg, Author of Past Lives-Future Lives, Soul Healing, Peaceful Transition, Look Younger, Live Longer, Protected by the Light, New Age Hypnosis, Time Travelers from the Our Future and Astral Voyages

Freedom from the Inside Out: A Guide for the Wounded Self is an impressive addition to the world of metaphysical inspirational literature and will be an important aid to many people in their personal quest for freedom. Sharing directly from a personal experience has always proved to be a most effective means to inspire and motivate, and it's wonderful to read how beautifully she has managed to do so. -- Michael Misita, Author of How to Believe In Nothing & Set Yourself Free, Valley of the Sun Publishing, Malibu, California, 1994
