5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, March 15, 2009
This review is from: Freedom Seat Reviews: Volume 1, Issue 1, March 2009 (Kindle Edition)
I'm the publisher, so I'm biased, but I think this is an excellent first issue. However, I very foolishly did not give enough information in the description, so let me take care of that now.

Most book reviews are about 500 words long and don't go into much detail in the book or the author - that's where Freedom Seat Reviews differs. The reviews here average 1000 words in length.

i. About Freedom Seat Reviews
1. Wings Around the World: The Exhilarating Story Of One Woman's Epic Flight From the North Pole to Antarctica, by Polly Vacher
2. Flying Higher: The Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II by Wanda Langley
3. Night Witches: The Amazing Story of Russia's Women Pilots in World War II, by Bruce Myles
4. End Notes

Second issue is on track to be published in April and will be expanded with two articles, as well as the same quality of book reviews.

More About the Author

I have recently published my first science fiction novel on the Kindle: The Coldest Equations. (If you like SF TV, you will love this book. Buy it today!)

I also am an annotator - my most successful book to date is my annotation of the Dorothy Sayers novel, Whose Body? which was also the first appearance of Lord Peter Wimsey.

As the daughter of a pilot in the Air Force, who upon retirement was a cargo pilot who flew in Africa and the Middle East, I've traveled throughout the United States and a good bit of the world. This early travel instilled in me a wanderlust that will never be slaked.

At age 13 I traveled to England for the first time, where I saw my first play, The Mousetrap, by Agatha Christie; got my first crush on an actor (Brian McDermott, who played DS Trotter); and within a day or two read my first Agatha Christie book, The Secret Adversary. In one fell swoop I fell in love with the theatre and with the mystery genre.

My interest in the science fiction genre started with the classic - the best - the original Star Trek TV series. I currently am co-publisher of The Thunder Child science fiction and fantasy webzine, and co-publisher of Volcano Seven, a series of scientific blogs (also available on the Kindle).

I'm a collector, and what I collect is experiences. One goal is to visit and see a game at every ballpark in the US (yes, it was inspired by a credit card commercial of many years ago), I want to see a professional production of every Agatha Christie play (Black Coffee and Akhneton are the two remaining plays on my list), and drive across country to trace the route - at least what remains of - the classic Route 66.
