5.0 out of 5 stars Kick ass band
I seen these guys live 5 years ago with the Kottonmouth Kings and they blew me away with their stage performance. I instantly bought their cd The New Testament and I was instantly a fan, this is basically a re-release of that cd with a few new songs but they are all catchy and they get their point across sometimes to hilarious results.

3.0 out of 5 stars Why did they do this?
7 of the songs on this CD are already on The New Testament so I'm not shelling out another 14$ for it but they are a great band I just wish they would have put more new stuff on this.

5.0 out of 5 stars The views of this record are not the views of the reviewer!, June 17, 2004

These are some really pissed off Native Americans! The anger in the songs is truly intense! My personal favorite "Christians Murdered Indians" has an incredible sound to it. It's hard to describe them in a general sense, but if I had to, I'd say they're a hardcore industrial metal group with Rage Against the Machine-esque lyrics. Excellent bassline in most songs as well. The songs never get old either! As a believer in the Christian faith, "Jesus Christ Homosexual" was almost offensive, but knowing they're getting a point across, I actually find it hilarious. "Voting doesn't Work" and "Taxes are Stealing" are pretty catchy songs as well if you don't like the government! Definately a must-buy if you enjoy hard, satirical music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must be heard., July 26, 2001

(REAL NAME)
I think we're going to hear a LOT about this band in the near future. One thing that can be said about Corporate Avenger is that they don't hold back. On "Freedom Is A State Of Mind", they discuss and give their opinion (Oh and do they ever) on a wide variety of topics ranging from the government, our taxes (and where they're really going), religion, and even Christopher Columbus.

The album is full of deep, serious lyrics that are shouted over tightly-done industrial beats, heavy guitars, and ingenious sampling. One thing that seperates these guys from all of their tour mates is their ability to write songs that will actually make you think.

I don't know just how much radio play these guys will get but they have already found their underground audience and it's only a matter of time before they reach Manson status.

The album is immensely listenable without ever getting repetitive. Each song is either a history lesson, a strong political statement, or both. They are all very compelling, from the opening of "I don't fault the police" to the closing note of "Heaven's Joke", you will be entertained and possibly enlightened

5.0 out of 5 stars best cd I've heard in a long time, March 19, 2007
If you are a unitarian or openminded, then you might enjoy this cd. They are very truthful and talented in their lyrics. My gay 70 year old friend listened to it and loved it and wants his own copy now. glad I introduced it to him!

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD STRIKES BACK at the unseen wickedness of Religion and Cultism, May 24, 2006

This is not a Group for mom and dad to hear, especially not grandparents. This cd is HIGHLy Offensive to Religious people. However don't get these guys wrong. They are not here to sell out like one guy posted. You can't become famous with these songs. But damn, as messed up as the titles sound, these songs really make a lot of sense. If you play them loud, oh you are going to raise eyebrows and attract a lot of ATTENTION! However, if you listen to the words, you can understand where these guys come from. A lot of the songs are about how America was stolen from the Native American Indians and Indians were brutally killed for not bowing down to forced religions and slavery. Andrew Jackson killed Indians, now why is he on a 20 Dollar Bill? In their song, they say what would the Jews feel like if Hitler was on the 20 dollar bill, because Native Americans see a monster with Andrew Jackson on it. Even being white, I can understand why that makes sense. WHo wants a murderer on their money?

But these guys attack religion tactfully in my opinion. It's not just to irritate and make people upset. So sorry satan worshippers, these guy aren't like that. They do not attack religion with hate, yet with concern and love for the better of mankind.

This site does not have it, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND their Last cd "BORN AGAIN." Only sold on MERCH.COM IT is completely Heavy Metal this time. No RAP/ROCK. They totally ROCK. THey sound like a Godsmack/Slayer/System of a Down -It IS REALLY GOOD! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as RATM wished they could be, March 2, 2006
A Kid's Review
Let's face it, apart from their first album, Rage Against the Machine were actually a bit rubbish. These guys will no doubt invite comparison with their political rap/rock sound, but they're really a lot better than Zack and the boys.

Firstly, every single song has a hell of a groove. And they're catchy... you will find yourself humming these long after the last strains of "Heaven's Joke" have floated from your speakers. Music-wise, Corporate Avenger deal in a mixture of Hip-Hop, metal, industrial and Cyber-Goth. These elements go together so well, and the result is a brilliant album like "Freedom is a State of Mind".
The lyrics are good, these guys aren't just running around yelling F-words to sell records, unlike certain anti-authority bands (Marilyn Manson). Corporate Avenger know what they are talking about.

So, if the idea of clever lyrics allied with catchy beats and thunderous basslines appeals to you, I would strongly recommend this album.

Trauma (Gotham City) - See all my reviews
I wanted to hate this on the principal that it is a quasi rap rock Rage meets System with streaking highlights of Ministry KMFDM & Manson but Freedom is a State of Mind is REALLY catchy with a message albeit a somewhat crosseyed view on the state of things but still theres whole lot of history being spewed forth here.
If theres a future for Corporate Avenger once the dust settles on the collapse of the entire nu metal trend im all ears.
