5.0 out of 5 stars REAGAN TAKES YOU THERE & MAKES IT LIVE!, August 9, 2001
By
This review is from: Freedom's Finest Hour (Audio CD)
Whether you're a researcher, history buff or proud and patriotic American, you will appreciate this work. With stirring music and realistic sound effects, Ronald Reagan takes you to the front lines of the Revolutionary War through the excellent portrayal of one fighting it, in the tradition of the old "You Were There" radio program. The listener with a good imagination and cursory knowledge of the event will be able to smell the gunpowder, or shake hands with George Washington as he crosses the Delaware. This is an excellent way to introduce today's American to his heritage, and would be a choice addition to a private or public library, as the cover notes say it "deserves to be heard, over and over again. Lest we forget." If you know where the film may be obtained on VHS or DVD, PLEASE contact me.

Ronald Reagan, before he was President, narrating the story of the political and military struggle for independence from distant & dictatorial Britain. Reagan's actor's voice is at its peak, the warm baritone obviously emotionally connected with the material. Hearing about the crafting of the glorious and traitorous Declaration, which immediately put the Signers into mortal jeopardy, will shock you as no textbook could. This CD will bring tears to your eyes and evoke a patriotic wistfulness you did not know you had. It will also provoke some interesting thoughts on the state of our Nation, its Citizens, and its Leaders today.

The Gipper again makes us feel good to be Americans as he takes us back to a time when being an American was not easy. This recording was made around the time he was Governor of California and our country was going through the changes of the sixties. He's the perfect narrator for such a wonderful time in our nation's history.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ronald Reagan and the American Revolution, November 13, 2010

Ronald Reagan narrates the view of a soldier during the American Revolution. This was part of a mid-1960s show chronicling the American Revolution. I listened on July 4th and plan to every July 4th. I also recommend the A&E movie called The Crossing. It takes place X-mas eve. It is good to watch in the cold of winter to get the true feel of the times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reagan ranks #4 in all Presidents!!!!, February 7, 2010

President Reagan falls closely behind Washington, Jefferson & Lincoln! His beliefs are as timeless as our Founding Fathers & Lincoln. He is a man who meant what he said & said what he meant!
In this CD, I learned that he wrote all of his Saturday Fireside Chats - they were NOT written by others (or a Teleprompter). It's good to hear the words that inspire & show pride in America & the American people. We NEED a President like him again.
