I want to make one thing very clear, this is not a book of crochet patterns. If you're looking for a book of patterns, move along, nothing to see here.

What this IS is a book of inspiration. Inspiration to move beyond pattern following, and create your own, fantabulous confections of yarn, texture and color.

It gives you:

Great directions on how to create motifs, using crochet, both regular and tunisian, knitting and felting.

Clear instructions on how to join them together.

Instructions for how to assemble a garment, hat or bag using a commercial dressmaking pattern or a pattern / form that you created.

Suggestions for beading and embellishment.

Tons of gorgeous photos of the author's own beautiful creations.

But what it doesn't give you is clear, concise project instructions, that is not what this book, or freeform crochet is about.

I don't even put this book away any more. I'm constantly referring to it, trying new motifs and patterns, and sometimes just gazing in awe at the pictures.

Since purchasing Freeform Crochet, I've completed 2 freeform handbags, and 3/4ths of the way through a third, and have the beginnings of another 3 or 4 projects in my head. I'm constantly seeing color combinations that I want to explore in another project!

Will give you a whole new idea on what you can really do with your freeform, the cover is just a small part of what you will find inside. The instructions are a very clear and easy to follow. If you are a beginner go ahead and grab this book as you will certainly be inspired to try more complex designs.

I have read a ton of stuff in books and on the internet about free form crochet, but this is the best by far. Instruction, inspiration, very easy to follow. If you are even remotely interested in free form crochet or just like to make up your own patterns, you'll want this book.

This is a great free form crochet book! As a passionate crocheter I am really excited about the opportunities this book offers me in mastering new to me free form techniques.
-The book is easy to use. Clear colorful photos, large diagrams, and well written instructions are very helpful not only for the beginners, but for more experienced crocheters, as well. I had no trouble making several items right away with very little experience in free form crocheting.
- The author's projects are creative, colorful, and unusual. They are very inspirational, the true work of an artist.

If you are looking for life changing book, keep shopping. But if you have $14 and want beautiful pictures of some truely fine art - by all means purchase this book. The author is very talented, and the book contains several photographs of truely awe-inspiring work. It does not have pattrns, or even a lot of instruction on how to take your piles of motifs & join them together to actually create something. I guess if you don't have this gift of vision, buying this book won't give it to you.

What is does have, though are a ton of color photos of individual motifs, and great instuctions on creating these individual motifs. These tips can be used to dress up any pattern you are already working to make it just that bit more special.

This book may not change your life, but you probably will use it to enhance the patterns you are already working.

This book is well written, detailed, and informative. Diagrams capture the essence of the instructions for bullions, spirals, etc. The author also talks more conceptually about how to blend fibers, textures, and styles. The last few chapters include some good info on felting and embroidery techniques. Gallery pictures show the author's beautiful projects.

i've never been a big freeform fan, but this book has inspired me to try new things!

The designs in the book are breathtaking, and there are plenty of ideas and techniques to help you create your own beautiful projects. I love this book!

This is a great way to use leftover yarns from other projects..make pillows, scarves, purses, hats, etc. Very inspiring book.

I'm loving this book, very inspirational and good step by step instructions. Just what I was hoping for :)
