Book Description

Pitt Series in Policy & Institutional Studies June 20, 1996

Editorial Reviews

Review

“Provides an excellent account of the efforts of the Carter administration and the Iranian leadership to end the hostage crisis of 1979–81. Moses not only examines the crisis from the perspectives of Iran, the United States and the Soviet Union, but also details the role of the American private banks and the lawyers for Iran in the negotiations and the final solution. . . . The numerous personal interviews with many insiders, including key officials in the Carter administration, provide new insights and information.”
--Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science

This review is from: Freeing the Hostages: Reexamining U.S.-Iranian Negotiations and Soviet Policy, 1979-1981 (Pitt Series in Policy & Institutional Studies) (Hardcover)
As a former Student of Professor Moses, I had the opportunity to read and analyze his book. While the book can get very complex at times, demanding careful reading, it rewards the reader with deep analysis, interviews with top personnel during the crisis and a new approach to the Hostage Crisis in general. A must read for anyone that considers himself an avid student of international affairs. Juan Pablo Adame Arnedo
