Freek Factory Raks!,
This review is from: Freek Factory v.1: The Balance (Audio CD)
This a great compilation album to listen leisurely as well as dance to. The sound is very authentically (Brooklyn!) New York blending urban beats with hints of low-frequency electronica and bhangra as well as some jazz and Middle Eastern elements.
All the tracks are crossfaded seamlessly, perfect for the discerning bellydancer (or other dance enthusiast) looking to explore past the confines of mainstream music. This is also a companion CD to the "East Coast Tribal" DVD featuring Sera and has been used in many of her stunning performances with Solstice. Favorite tracks to dance to: Track 6 - 1000 Brahma Years (Kraddy) Track 8 - Homemade (Spiro & Haj feat. Blacklight) Track 14 - Lobeknocker (Slidecamp)

I really enjoy techno and electronica music. I also happen to like doumbec and middle eastern rythms. This CD blended the two very well. It is a very good CD from beginning to end. All the tracks are great and I look forward to hearing more from these talented artists.
The fact that Sera's tribal fusion belly dance is performed to this makes it very cool! |
