It's obvious from reading THE FREEMAN by Jerry and Sharon Ahern that this couple knows a lot both about personal firearms and the good uses to which they could be put during a possible future battle for freedom by patriotic Americans within the United States. About the Author

JERRY and SHARON AHERN are authors of 81 published novels. Nominated for a Horror Writers Award for a short story which has just been optioned as a motion picture property, they are also recipients of the High Adventure Award from Romantic Times and the James Madison Award. Their science fiction series, The SURVIVALIST, has sold millions of copies and has been published in at least five different countries. Ahern books have been translated into French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, Japanese and Serbo-Croatian. Jerry is also the author of over a thousand magazine articles, columns, features, and interviews with celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Louis L Amour and UFO expert Dr. J. Allen Hynek.

Along with his wife, Sharon, Jerry Ahern is the author of over eighty internationally published novels, under the name Jerry Ahern, as well as the pseudonyms "Axel Kilgore" and "Red Mitchell." Jerry has written over a thousand magazine articles, columns, features and interviews. His latest non-fiction books are SURVIVE! THE DISASTER, CRISIS AND EMERGENCY HANDBOOK, THE GUN DIGEST GUIDE TO CONCEALED CARRY HANDGUNS and ARMED FOR PERSONAL DEFENSE. Jerry has regular columns in the monthly magazines GUN WORLD, DILLON BLUE PRESS and KNIVES ILLUSTRATED, this latter column dealing with swords and their history. I personally liked this stand alone novel better than the Survivalist series, but I liked the Survivalist series too. That 80's nuclear war/red menace theme that produced the modern preparedness movement is neat to observe and learn from, as is the geopolitics of that time versus now. And, one thing that I will continue to dig about Ahern, he wrote about his beloved Detonics 45s in the 80s, and a couple of years ago, he bought the defunct company and brought it back to life. Evidence of a man that believed in what he wrote, rather than wrote what would sell.
